@@theoriginalCoCoSmith Gentrification in MOST cases is devasting to the residents in the area that is being gentrified and is a win for those wishing to live in a gentrified area. Money is only poured into those neighborhoods once the current residents leave. From your statement, you assume that all gentrified areas are crime-ridden. Instead of creating more homeless, how about we address the issues in what you feel is a "crime-ridden area". This phenomenon that is occurring across the unit states is reminiscent of the crack epidemic and oxycodone. The were no facilities created for crack addiction, yet the other has been addressed by the Govt. Additionally, most areas that are now being gentrified were not originally populated mainly by minorities. White flight occurred and there went tax dollars as well as opportunities. But ok lest gentrify the inner city……
