On 24 November 2023, Circle of Care (CoC) In The Making Early Childhood Development conference gathered 300 participants from education, healthcare and social service sectors - sparking a multitude of innovative ideas in one shared space!
We are proud to present key insights from our decade-long project with young children and their families through CoC, as well as the positive outcomes of our preventive work.
We kickstarted the day with an opening address by guest-of-honour Mr Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, highlighting the challenges that children from low-income families face. Dr Joanne Yoong, CEO of Research For Impact Singapore, then shared key findings of our evaluation study. One insight was that the programme demonstrated a potential up to 7 times return on investment, underscoring the significance of our programme.
To make resources more accessible to parents, our team went through rounds of user testing and design thinking to finally develop Buddy, a user-friendly mobile application. Our attendees had some time navigating and exploring the relevant content on the app.
The afternoon unfolded with six enriching breakout sessions that covered topics ranging from inclusion, design thinking, integration and promoting executive function in children. We wrapped up the day with a thought-provoking panel discussion about cultivating a stronger ecosystem around our young children, and how we can place them at the heart of all we do.
Appreciate all our speakers for sharing your expertise with us! To our attendees, thank you for embarking on this journey with us and for sowing seeds of hope in our young generation. A huge shoutout to our dedicated Circle of Care team for all their hard work and thought that went into building up this much-needed ecosystem of care!
