This must have been so fun for everyone to film. 4 years as an actor playing the same character you might get a little bored with the job, but then suddenly you get to play your usual character's evil twin!
Lmao that's like in the OG series: "okay folks let's brainstorm... What's the simplest, most clear way to get across to viewers that this is a different universe entirely by just observing the cast.... Thoughts!?" "Well..... what if Spock had a goatee...?" "Yes! Perfect!! Anything else? Anyone??" "Uhhhh..... No sleeves for Kirk....?" "My god... Such a privilege it is... To work amongst the level of genius I see myself with!!!"
Same. This was the episode that reminded me of why the classic Constitution-class is so awesome. It's also the episode that made the _USS Defiant_ my second favorite Trek ship after _Enterprise._
This is the only mirror universe story set exclusively in that universe, no interaction with the Prime Universe (guess they didn’t want to disturb the continuity of Mirror Mirror). Yet they had concepts there might be a parallel universe.
@@wastedproductions45it’s pretty obv by the entirety of the comment that the original commenter was referring to interpersonal interactions and not the bare-bones literal interpretation you’ve garnered within the confines of your skull
There was only one small flaw in the mirror universe episodes, namely the ones in DS9. The Klingons should have been docile and peace loving, instead they were just more of themselves!
@@Jebu911 NO way! It would have been hilarious to see docile, sensitive Klingons against aggressive and violent Ferengi's! I wonder what Mirror Universe Borg would have looked like...
@The high ground Not a bad consideration (and Enterprise certainly is evidence of that), however the idea of the mirror universe was for everyone to be opposite of their nature (Hence Dax and Sisko getting it on in the Mirror U). I'm just simply saying that everyone was opposite their nature, but the Klingon's were more of their nature, that's all!
Its a shame star trek never did a mirror universe series. I would like to see how it all began. What part of their history changed that made them what they're are
If we look exclusively at Zefran C he was armed and hanging with a gang of looters, something should have happened to make him that way but if the earth was in chaos and savagery the Vulcans wouldnt have initiated contact. I think we can assume Zefran C was the pivot point, and thats when the two realities split.
@@pflaffikmaybe but I might have to disagree the split could've happened when rome never fell remember they always did the salute & always say long live the empire. Star trek the old series enterprise. And discovery had people doing this. Mirror universe archer even said that's it been around for thousands of years.
@@keithwiggins299 Actually Archer says: "An Empire that's been around for centuries" not thousands of years. But yeah, the commonly accepted divergence is that there was never a decline of the Roman Empire.
@@JS-wp4gs Chronologically Enterprise comes before Discovery S1, which comes before Star Trek (TOS). The time spent in the mirror universe during Discovery S1 shows the empress at that time is a descendent of Sato, who rose to power with the help of the captured Defiant and its technology. As for nonsensical there is plenty of stuff that can be critiqued in Discovery, I’m just saying that it calls back to this arc.
There was never a clear explanation until this episode, how the Agony Booth got developed. Now we know it was Major Reed and Phlox. It eventually became not only an extreme device for "discipline" it was miniaturized (The hand agonizers by Spock's time in Mirror Mirror) and by the time of the ISS Enterprise D, it was attuned to individual pain centers. Meaning it found its victims personal pain centers to greatly extend the suffering, and to prevent overfiring of the nerves to prevent them from falling unconscious. I wouldn't doubt that had the Empire survived, the technology would have been even more advanced (Possibly Borg technology) and implanted in everyone who signed up to serve in the Imperial Starfleet. Then a simple utterance from a senior officer and basically the person is tortured right before their eyes.
Thanks for your efforts. I think a 63 to 1 like ratio on under 1k views shows a lot of people feel the same. Put aside the beautiful women, the aspect of time displacement is woven into those clips, my favorite storyline: the city on the edge of forever, time's arrow, all good things, voyage home and first contact are classics. I will continue to get your posts, take care.
imageing if they found a defiant class ship there would of been a unstoppable but maybe putting a ship there from only 100 years in the future is enough power for them
Was interesting seeing the original enterprise, or well, a constitution class. It hard to believe is from the future but it is, the 60's esthetic was a popular thing or something. XD
Since Defiant left the Federarions Universe; was the Universe that the Thiolans contacted the one from Star Trek the Mirror Cracked(also on You Tube),where the Enterprises 2nd counterpart was HMS Enterprise?????????????????? ples respond in Replies
1. Whom did they get the cloak from? 2. They didn't even allowed T'Pol to warn them that the Vulcan Science Directorate has determined that time travel is impossible".
Actually, due to Lt. Yor’s death in the Prime Universe and Empress Georgiou’s medical probs, it’s made clear that individuals cannot survive in dif realities for long…..
I only saw few episodes but if they stole a constitution Class from the future that would be bad. I do know about the mirror universe it's a fascinating story line about parallel universe. However I hope we don't run into one that evil.
@@lauranolastnamegiven3385 I do. Nothing could make my suicidal tendencies go overdrive than to be deprived of my own virginity when I never asked for it. I might be a guy, but I'm not one of those sleazies who sleeps around like a fracking dog.
Star Trek, 2000s: "With new effects and new lighting/cameras we can make these old models and sets shine." KurtzmanTrek, 2020s: "MAKE EVERYTHING SHINY AND BIG AND LIKE AN APPLE STORE AND GIVE IT GO FASTER HOLES."
The women on this show were hot, why did they cancel Enterprise? This show used to be on UPN, I always wondered why there weren't more black people on Enterprise.
Think about it. The USS Defiant is taken from 100+ years in the future, relative to the mirror universe ISS Enterprise crew perspective AND the time and setting the viewer has witnessed up to before the mirror universe episodes of ST:ENT. The USS Defiant computer database has all the info on the NX-01 Enterprise crew and history 100 years prior and beyond, relative to the moment the defiant mysteriously disappeared from the prime universe in the year 2268. Put another way, the same people DON'T exist 100 years apart between two different universes. The prime universe episode before the mirror two parter was the end of 2154. The two mirror universe episodes takes place in 2155. The USS Defiant data read by mirror ISS Archer, Hoshi, Phlox, and T'Pol is HISTORICAL DATA FROM THE PRIME UNIVERSE because it's a ship built in the 2250s and went thro the portal in 2268.
One of the less-nonsensical representation of Terrans in Star Trek until Hoshi just went and did a stupid. Earth doesn't even know how politics work. One ship, even one "100 years more advanced" is nothing against an Empire, especially with no one to back your claim politically. Every Terran knows this basic stuff. Earth.... Star Trek techdev is so slow too, what even is 100 years? Between the NX and NCC they got beam phasers and... the teleporter doesn't kill you if you sneeze... all the other tech is the same, the ship is just bigger... Which IIRC is how it actually went down historically for the Terrans...Hoshi didn't make a gamble and Archer felt completely ripped off anyways. "Earth junk" they called it. I think they stole it once to do some time travel and save the Emperor's life... (the normal one, not the God-Emperor one, like he ever needs saving, lol.)
I really don't think you understand what a hundred years of advancement looks like it's like ww1 era battleship vs a Nimitz class carrier their could be a thousand to one ratio and the nimitz would come out on top
@@thegreatozz3626, Yes, and Hoshi allegedly being represented as stupid in the last scene, is contradicted, in a sense, by a series of novels being commissioned to follow this very development. Non-canonical they may be, but that doesn't mean that they didn't expertly and convincingly lay out a path that integrated Hoshi's action with the events of Mirror, Mirror. A great trilogy.
I don't think you know how much has progress 100 years can do for Starfleet. Better phasers, shields replacing polarised hull platings, faster transporters/teleports, faster ships, perfected force fields, etc.
1:58 sexism or equal treatment? I say sexism, given the time period this show was made. Although, it's like they were making a subtle point about sexism. Who knows
Found the SJW that tries to find a problem with everything and you clearly never considered there is a purpose behind such uniforms in universe. or have you forgotten how useful of a weapon sex can be, especially in such a culture
I am finishing up watching Enterprise for the first time. Bought all four seasons. In my opinion, this episode is a good reason for the show's cancellation. I know it's not necessarily the reason but in my opinion, this was terrible. Season four looks like the writers were just running out of ideas so let's throw some really crazy ideas and make sure we emphasize the old notion "sex sells". "Bound" was just as bad. It's as if they were throwing a hail Mary. If Fonzie could have showed up to jump the shark, I'm sure they would have included that. I assume I'm in the minority here but this was a very disappointing way to go out. I'm hopeful "Terra Prime" and "These Are the Voyages" take the high road.
I was disappointed by this too. We just got done watching the last of the episodes this evening, and were waiting to find out what the point of "Empress Sato" was. Was the infant child of Trip and T'Pol linked to this alternate universe? Or, maybe when the plot to destroy Starfleet Command was foiled, the alternate universe would be "corrected". Or, was Riker somehow connected to that alternate universe, and some sort of clever intrigue came from it? Then, the series sort of ended, and we thought, "okay, the mirror episodes had no point to them", and felt like that whole story line was unresolved. In other words, Sato became Empress and Star Trek fandom had to respond BFD. Still, we did get an answer when we watched the special features. The writers admitted they did the two episodes "just for fun" and that they DID have no point to them.
Funny, because EAS, a huge critic of Enterprise even before the series began, praised "The Forge" by saying this: "Before 'The Forge' there was Star Trek, and there was Enterprise. Now they are one and the same."
The problem is that the storyline ended with no point to it. It had no connection to the final episodes at all, and there ended up being no point to Sato becoming Empress. "Call me Empress Sato..." and then.....?????
