I just wanted to say how much this helped me! I have been recording live stream modular hip-hop sessions for a couple months and have been wanting to develop a project from a lot of these sessions and I battle with my expectations of how a finished piece should be mixed. Quite honestly it has stunted my progression to becoming a complete artist imo. I feel like I have permission now to do what I originally envisioned for myself. Create live compositions and take them through my mixer in real time with some Eq and compression and then do a real time mixed down post performance. I felt in the past like I had to have complete multitracked stems And that always stopped me from releasing material. I think with some of these techniques I can accomplish exactly what I want people to experience, in the way I want them to experience it. Thank you so much for this
@ColinBenders could you please tell me how many tracks you were originally recorded live? I wasn’t sure if this was a single track that Pieter pulled frequencies from to mix with or if you originally recorded multi tracks. Thank you for your time
