- "In the name of Kane!" - "Kane lives in death!" - "In the name of Kane!" - "Kane lives in death!" - "IN THE NAME OF KANE!" - "KANE LIVES IN DEATH!" - "KANE... LIVES!" *Ecstatic acclamations*
I liked Anton Slavik as the villain. He was an awesome second in command for Nod and what made him dangerous was because he was a true believer when it came to Kane. Unlike the other Nod generals who wanted power, he wanted to carry out what he believed to be Kane's will.
Two things: -) This whole scene seriously looks like it belongs in a movie, even the scene after the reveal. -) I wish we got more of Slavik. He's a brilliant, shrewd, charismatic, and extremely loyal to Kane himself. His voice and appearance is iconic enough to be a legitimate successor to Nod unlike most of the Nod generals and commanders that ends up fighting each other for power.
Had to rewatch it, I admit it....and no, I don't think it had the same impact of this. At this point in the serie, Kain was presumed dead, nothing in the plot gave hints they were going to bring it back. Also, it's more smooth since you just had to watch it. I find both well made game scenes, but this was just good as the player would feel like a true member of NOD watching the scene, not just a spectator.
Once again the world is quick to bury me, how could my own brothers believe that what transpired at Temple Prime did not unfold exactly as I had planned, of course I could not have planned for an ambush BY MY OWN FORCES!. - Kane
"One Vision, One Purpose!" is just as memorable a line as Malcolm McDowell's "THE STRONG, SHALL SURVIVE!" in Wing Commander 4. Man, old computer games were memorable for all the right reasons.
They're just so delightfully over-the-top, you can't help but cheer for them. Also, shouting slogans is fun. KANE LIVES IN DEATH ! IN THE NAME OF KANE ! PEACE THROUGH POWER !
It's not that over the top though, not like in Red Alert 3. You can see that while the material is fantastical, the emotions and state of the actors are very grounded. They are real, serious people living in a kind-of-over-the-top world. And also, Tiberium is much more serious than Red Alert.
Funny to think how Joe Kucan first did his takes of Kane as a reference for other actors they'd consider casting...And just stuck, because no one fit the budget and their vision.
This is truly the best if you think about it NOD is a adult version of Cobra from G.I Joe but it's so much better this scene is legendary and the tiberium universe is just insane and I like it Kane is the messiah and the prophet of tiberium one vision one purpose.
This, and Red Alert 2 were awesome games. By the time EA were done with Westwood/C&C, it was dead, and being propped up like a Weekend At Bernies reenactment. Never forget EA's crimes.
Command & Conquer along with Soviets, NOD and China was a foundation of creating my Overwatch fanfic called "Overwatch: Eclipse". I summoned the most powerful devil to rescue another legend from dealing fate with C&C. And I hope this will restore a chance for another C&C as well. ONE VISION! ONE PURPOSE!
Kinda want to replay the Tiberian Sun games because I was very young when experiencing the story, but I also still have a glimmer of hope we'll see the remasters somewere in the next 3 years and would rather wait for HD quality cinematics.
