This approach to in the bag is very interesting. I like when pros go the extra mile in explaining their disc selection. My most unique disc is the Innova Cro! I throw it in Champ plastic and have never met another soul who uses it. I love smaller diameter discs.
My most unique disc in the bag is definately my Kristin Tattar 2022 Gold-X Pure that I've dyed myself 👌🏻. Love that thing, love throwing it, love aeeing it in the air, love birdies with it.
most unique - Turbo putter! OK, it's not usually in the bag anymore, since I realized it's not approved, but when I started playing 2 years ago I didn't know about all that... it's still fun to have around on casual rounds
I was riding my bicycle and spotted a "frisbee" on the shoulder of the road, which turned out to be a Latitude River. I actually had to do a web search to find out it was a golf disc. It had been run over at least once and as a result has a warp that is easy to spot even without laying it on a flat surface. That disc introduced me to the sport, and it's managed to stay with me as I bought and built my bag over the last 18 months. It's a nice reminder of how this hobby began for me. Still fun to watch it wobble through the air.
I agree on the savant. One of the most underrated innova molds. I have had atleast one savant in my bag for 4 years and it will stay forever. And also good in the bag video👍🏻👍🏻
I think the most unique disc in my bag isn’t actually a unique disc but to me it is unique because I’ve thrown that Wraith in two countries and hit many trees in both.
Nice to meet another Joel 🤓. However my name uses the spanish pronunciation. My most unique disc would have to be one of my 2 ring Aviars. I have 1 that is almost like a rubber blend and one that is champion glow. These are unique to me because of how old (cool) they are and I love throwing them!
You are so awesome. Thanks for all that you do. Excited to watch you this next season. And as always your content is super helpful… chart method… tips in tricks… adding it to my bag planning. I remember the chart method in the past and I told myself I was going to do it but never did… after watching this I’m a fool if I don’t. Thanks for taking the time
My most unique disc is my buzzz os! 2nd time playing, I asked if sidearm was a thing. My friend gave me the buzzz os cuz he hated it. 1st throw made it 250. never threw back hand again lol and that one disc taught me everything I needed to know! 2 months in and I'm crushing my beast, teebird, buzzz os, and avair x3..I'm a sidearm guy all day..if you don't have a buzz os your frickin up!
Most unique disc I carry is a neutron paradox from axiom disc. Super under stable mid, put it on a lot of hyzer it will flip up flat and keep turning. Hit some great shots with it!! Thanks for all the great RU-vid content!! ✌️
Grateful for the tips! Can't wait until the snow goes away so I can try them out. My most unique disc is a star kite. It's great for a tight hyzer flip. Don't use it a whole lot, but I loved it enough to spend half an hour trying to get it down from a pine tree.
The most unique disc in my bag is my custom dyed bottom stamp star wraith. Got a gengar dyed on it. I enjoyed the way you described the slots in your bag and how you filled them.
My most unique disc I carry is a flippy star wraith I found on the side of the road as we were exiting the freeway an hour from home on a disc golf excursion.
I loved this video. You do such a good job explaining the why behind everything. My most unique disc in my bag is the first run from the kona emperors i blend. It is the flippiest "destroyer" in my bag and i can hyzer flip it or throw it flat and it holds a super nice turn the entire way.
Most unique disc in my bag is a 2008-9 clear gummy wizard with a custom dye. No idea how many disc were made with that plastic but I’ve played nearly every round of disc golf since then with it and it still is money!
The most unique disc in my bag would have to be my old lucid felon that is basically a roller disc at this point. It has filled many different spots in my bag and it is my favorite and most unique disc ever!
The most unique disc in the bag is a hard choice. I'd probably go with the guaranteed basket finder in the BEOrg (Berg) as the winner over the rather flippy Grym that I use as the "bomber" backhand driver. Third place would be a Champ Thunderbird that really loves to turn, but if it starts to turn over it will not fight back. That thing is amazing up to about 320ft on backhand and around 290 forehand.
Most unique disc in my bag is a Full Turn Ground Manifest. 3, 3, 0, 3. It's a groove top putter. Manufactured by Gateway using the Reptilian Disc Golf Scale top and the Black Zombie Chainsaw bottom to make a cool beaded OS groove top goddess.
The most unique disc in my bag would have to be my flippy pig. I love the way my pigs feel in my hand and I throw them so much that I beat one into being a hyzer flip disc haha😂
The Most Unique Disc in my bag is a first run star max that has become so beat in that it flies like a beat in Wraith rather than a max. I throw turning shots with it sometimes and I enjoy seeing the confusion on peoples faces when they see it is a max.
I recommend you try the Manta for understable midrange (if you haven't tried already). I also have a similar layout to you in terms of stability ranges, in that the faster I go, the more differentiation I want between discs, therefore more slots. My simplified bag is 10 discs that I throw in an Innova Standard bag.
Time to downsize my bag after watching this video. Less disc = less weight = win/win! Most unique disc in my bag is the Innercore by Trash Panda. It's the lightest disc in my bag but the straightest for throwing and putting!
Your gator 3 is my go to for so many shots and by far my favorite disc. The most unique disc in my bag is my team stamped tern from Dean Tannock. He auctioned off a few discs when last year when John E McCray got sick to help him out. The tern is the only one I have bagged out of the 6 or 7 I got. It's a lightweight bomber in the right conditions.
I'm pretty sure that Whale could be dyed Joel. Just an idea. I LOVE dyeing old, used and even absolutely beat up discs to sort of give them a new chance at life. Also if someone already loves a beat in disc, a new dye job will only make it better. (This is not self advertising tho amd although I would love to dye it for you I live in Finland and postal fees/times would be annoyingly high)
Great video!!! very interesting and methodical approach to building a bag. I snagged two of those burger MFG chariots too. cant wait to see your signature series!!
The most unique disc in my bag is the Kastaplast K1 glow Berg. Very pronounced thumbtrack that creates a puddle top, excellent approach disc to keep you close to the basket. Shout to Charlie Goodpasture for the recommendation
My most unique disc in my bag is a Colorado Avalanche dyed F2 Wraith. Not unique in the sense that it's a special mold, just unique in that it was a custom dye job and I got it a week before the Avs won the Stanley Cup :D
The DGA hellfire has been my go-to flick disc since it’s first run back in like 2015. I went to the store wanting to get a firebird, but the Hellfires were 25% off so I got 3!! Half a decade later I lost my last of those original 3 but by that time I was hooked.
Most unique and surprising disc would have to be an F2 Aviarx3. Ordered a baseline (DX) factory second aviarx3 to see if I liked the disc. What came in the mail was a swirly, similar to "galactic" style Innova plastic but just black and white, disc with the bottom etching saying Aviar3. It quickly rose to being on of my most used in the bag, but sadly with no way of replacing...
My favorite and most unique disc has to be my lucid x justice. I love that plastic, but man that disc is insanely overstable haha. Sometimes hard to find that plastic.
My most unique disc is an Innova Wedge, which is also one of Innova's most unique discs. I was told by them that it wasn't retired, but just not currently produced. It glides far, has a -3 turn, and has a very thin profile. You can find them on eBay sometimes, but at a premium.
I had 5 star wedges in my cart on the innova factory store as I had been using one as a putter and thought it was going well, but I didn't buy em, guess I shoulda. Also found I could forehand them super accurately for like a smash at the basket. Definitely a unique disc, basically a stingray but a bit slower
I find Joel to be the most relatable disc golfer, ability to use language concisely (rare in disc golf) and speaking with logic. I carry 28 discs.. I guess i should take the advice and downsize. I have often thought with 3 discs I would probably be able to score the same. But coming from ultimate and freestyle in the pandemic, the different discs is what I find interesting so I switch around and find it easy enough to carry loads in a very light bag I made. I only use my tl3 for dead straight ace runs. Have a few other discs for very specific moves. Maybe having a fun set up abe a tournament set up with less discs is the way to go, as when I'm playing extra seriously I do seem to end up using the same handful of discs. having multiple discs like a lightweight flippier destroyer for up hill shots.. maybe that's stupid. I'll have a think
I noticed you considered the firebird a control driver in your bag chart but a fairway in the amateur bag chart. My most unique disc would either be my mystery prodigy proto d series (no markings) or my proto m3 😎
Most unique discs in my bag is the berg in various plastics not only is it a 1 of a kind approach disc/best disc ever made. Its my only non innova I bag
My most unique disc is an all gold foil stamped Axiom Mayhem that was released by DFX Discs in their monthly subscription box. It has posidon on it and it is my farthest throwing distance driver to date (nearly eagled hole 16 at the Unchained Conference [approx 425 ft])
The most unique disc in my bag is the innova groove its got a wierd rim and most of my friends have a very hard time throwing it but it works great with my forehand
I have a star wraith that was mistakenly printed with the destroyer flight numbers. I think it’s a run from like 2008. It’s not a factory second either. The 12 5 -1 3 was just mistakenly put into the actual stamp and they were sent out like that.
I really like the idea of only having 12 discs in my bag. Can't wait to try it. One quick question. When you say a stable disc for the middle slot. Is it a disc that goes straight with a little fade or a disc that has a whole flight that ends straight. Like a -2,2?
More the former. A disc that you need to flex to get a straight shot is too overstable to fill the middle slot. However, it's also harder to be that picky unless you have very high arm speed.
Most unique disc in my bag is a pop top 147 g champion falcon that philo made fun of me for buying off him but it does work for sky flex shots over trees
The most unique disc in my bag has to be the Meta Tilt by Discmania. Not a very useful disc on most holes, but it's amazing for forehand rollers. Also, do you know if the Xero will be coming in star plastic anytime soon? :)
Hey Joel, I know you're busy being a pro disc golfer, but I would love a more in-depth review on the Xero. I am interested in trying it as my putting putter, but there aren't a lot of reviews for it, and even the ones that are out there focus on it more as a thrower.
Medium-sized bead, somewhat deep, even weight distribution. That pretty much something it up. If you like putting with a straight beaded putter, you might like the Xero. The only downside in my opinion is that some Xeros come out a bit taller than others.
I, too, am curious what putter he is going to switch to. I really like the Xero because it is a true straight flyer, but ideally it would fit my grip better. You’re thinking the Discmania P2? Why do you think he would throw a P2? Because he is missing a overstable putter? Can he do a signature disc with another company when he represents Innova?
@Jullia kosic would be cute if some lost teenager called Joel at 3am and Joel was his charming self and made them feel better. I guess it it was happening all the time it could get stressful
