January 2004 in Kauai Hawaii over a popular overlook Vista, said to be spiritual connections that I heard and touch me. I was truly standing on Higher Ground and in the presence of and then magnification came out and then there was music to allow me to relive this wonderful epiphany. My great love to the gentleman in yes, we miss you greatly Allen and Chris ❤️
Magnification, what an album! One of their best releases. In my humble opinion, ranked as number 3 in my list......... And this piece is the best that they’ve done since Awaken…
Awaken and this one are by Alan White, He had the main or a major part in writing these songs. I think his contribution is the key factor in the beauty of these songs...
Oh Wow! First time I've heard this song. Though I'd been a fan of Yes for a long time I forgot my love of them and forgotten just how absolutely great they are. I find How's work to be just humbling, but then you could single out any one of them for a raving review. Just magical.
What I meant was that it’s surprising that as beautiful as Magnification is....that a record company has been forced to remove such a brilliant piece of music from the Yes catalogue.......How sad........ remember, all is meant to be!!!.......? what a beautiful song this is!.......
Deeper than every ocean Deeper than every river That's what your presence brings to me Revealing the words I listen Seeing you in my silence Learning I'm with you constantly As I was before If we were flowers We would worship the sun So why not now? This high is shining brightly Brighter than before As the door was open wide There inside was a diamond chair Where I sat when I was young I wrote down the words Only when the young at heart Can enter the real world This chance I've waited for For you to see If I had chances I would spend them with you To hold you close and let your love surround me Deeper than before And I know this love is real (Deeper than every river) Realize this is meant to be That's what your eyes they say to me You are listening to how I feel So…
Turn around and remember that the reason for such a great performance of this was that the best lineup performed it. Just love it @ 7.50+ where it just spritually climbs & climbs, Sits alongside on the top table with all the other great milestones they made. Thanks for the U/L. & special thanks to Claude Nobs R.I.P. who founded the Montreax Jazz Festival. Without him, you would not be seeing this upload.
The best unquestionably YES line-up there ever was. Glad to see the best 5 back together for this concert. As far as this track goes It's one of the best I've heard since the best 5 split up. It's got that Symphonic build up like " And you and I" and like a few others in the catalogue the music brings within you a great sense of humilty and humbleness.
This is a very beautiful song. I'm learning the words and going to sing it for you all on RU-vid when I get the proper recording software. Peace and Lots of Love to All other YESFANS out there!!!
I've often heard the question "Why the hell is Rick Wakeman wearing coloured glasses"? No he's not trying to look cool He's wearing glasses because he's relatively unfamiliar with the track because he didn't play this on studio recording He's reading the sheet music The coloured lenses are to protect his eyes from various flashing strobe lighting upon the stage Simple as that!!!!
This was Part of there "2002-'2003 "Full Circle Tour. Which I got to Witness on 7/20/02 @ the "Shoreline", Mt. View Ca and Having Mr. Rick Wakeman back in the Fold made all the Difference. Being that the TALES Line-Up is there BEST as Well as My Favorite, I Had to Wait 23 Years to Hear Them all Play together Again (I Don't Count the Union Show in '91) . I had 3 Other Show which I saw this Line-Up Play Together, '1974 TALES Show (The BEST YES Show of 10), '1978 Tormato Show and Again in '1979 (Sitting in Row # 2 @ the Spectrum Phila PA) PS: This Song was # 3 on there Set List, Played right after "America" . This was a Wonderful Song to Hear Live!!
Magic! And the wonderful keyboard work by Rick Wakeman here makes this version even better than the original orchestral version of this truly great song.
Some of the crap that the RU-vid algorithm suggests for me and this is the 1st time it's come up on my recommended list???? And I listen to and am subscribed to almost anything Yes. Wow! I see where I commented on this vid 9 years ago. The mind is the 1st thing to go. lol Looks like Steve's playing a modified Les Paul Artist model. With skinny frets. :-D Just looked deeper and it's apparently a Les Paul Studio Custom. It's still been modified from the looks of it.
I wish that I could listen to Magnification when I feel like it, I paid for it, then someone removed it their catalogue, that’s theft. I don’t enjoy being impolite, but I am bothered by the fact that music that I own on different formats ends up being removed from Apple Music.
Wow. This song says so much, in such little time. Deeply, deeply profound. They were all emotionally charged that night... look no further than to Steve Howe for proof.
You know what as much as I Love Yes , there is something weird and strange .. very sombre cold lyrics until the last " Sacred Ground " part I laoeve Yeahs !!!Q
@scitsalcoryp they will soon be replacing their members . LOL... No disrespect to Yes at all ..I loved em I just cant get with the new program . If they can still entertain and enthrall people the way they used to,,more power to them . Yeah change is inevitable . God Bless
@rh203np Oh Yes..and who cares to wager that when this ' incarnation ' of the bands' audiences members keep dwindling down that they might actually crawl back to Jon . Yes isn' t really getting a truckload of new, younger audience members . As Pete Banks said in an interview that the last few Yes concerts he attended resembled a ' pensioners rally '... Maybe they can still pull off some grandiose music..but it isn' t this last lineup and the new disc sux . Deans artwork is great tho
@carrietide Yeah..meet and greet packages are available..pretty expensive . Still , without Jon and Rick its a mere shell of the former greatness . I guess everything changes . Band members get old ...remaining band members kick out ailing or ' not up to performance snuff ' band members with younger recruits to " keep the music alive ". However let there be no mistake..it is purely about $ . Hell , Yes even taught Kiss a thing or 2 about how to keep a band going..since
