Unfortunately his Sponsor LP are just as another Take advantage of ' where were they when they knew he had a sugar problem? Or when he was being taken advantage of?
I have been playing congas for 21 years.. i started playing at 18, i am now 39.. man how time flyes! So i consider myself to be good. Ive always had music in my blood picked it up effortlessly... but this man blows my mind! Amazing talent...
I'm Puerto Rican descent and I studied flamenco guitar in Souther Spain in Jerez de la Frontera and Luis el Perikin son of Flamenco legend Nino Jero who is a really nice guy and great musician who plays flamenco guitar and percussion couldn't stop talking of Giovanni Hidalgo, goes to show music is universal.
Majestic and worthy of great respect and admiration. I understand that everyone wants to be special in this world, but in reality, very few people alive can be truly called the best at what they do, and this man, deserves that mention many times over.
I played these at guitar center, I've never heard such a deep resonance as the bass I was playing softly, they generate alot of sound from light taps so when you kick it up you're shocked at how loud but clear they remain, most professional drum I've ever played, they're easy to look at too!
perfect. I had to literally copy it, note for note...I only have 3 congas, so I used the low side of my bongo to get the 4th note (the one he has out in front)
Es increible como él toca. Me fascina la afinación de las congas y aunque tiene una velocidad exorbitante, no la usa todo el tiempo. He visto el vídeo de principio a fin y no me aburrió en ningún momento. Bravo Giovanni!!
Giovanni Hidalgo change the Way that we play the Timbas he inspire thousand of percussionists to be better to improve our self.. He show us how to be a protagonists no only to do and be a good rhythm section, also he change the traditional way to play rumba and salsa. Govanni is an extraordinary musician a master in percussion... for me he is a Complete musician Giovanni can play all type of percussion instruments.. GH is a Latin jazz legend.. my respect and admiration
AWWWW Giovanni Hidalgo!!! You and Changuito were such a big part of a spiritual transformation I had during some of the best years of my life and I just want to say I love you bro. God Bless you + + +
I love it first time I ever touched a pair of congas I was 8 years old when my dad was in a salsa band and I’ve played ever since i love you dad god bless you
IN THE MID 90'S I BOUGHT THE SET OF GIOVANNI GALAXIES WITH BONGOS AND COLLAPSIBLE STANDS. I HAVE NEVER WANTED TO SOLO( I MUST BE THE ONLY ONE ON EARTH NOT TO WANT TO) BUT I REALIZED LATIN LOUNGE JAZZ AND AMERICAN STANDARDS IS WHAT I LOVE MOSTLY. AS LONG AS PERCUSSION FITS IN. FOR ME PLAYING SOFTLY WITH STYLE MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
Besides years of training and practice, this man is a genius. Very few of us have the brain neurological connections governing with lightening fast command over the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers in keeping with syncopation of complex rhythms and polyrhythms.
These here are not the Galaxy ones. They are the Giovanni Palladiums. I have all four Galaxy ones, and I prefer the look of those. I don't like the hoops on the Palladiums. I have asked LP to make a Galaxy super tumba.
I'm a pretty basic rock drummer my self, but there is a primitive side to drumming which I love but I can not describe it yet. This performance has it a ton!
Giovanni Hidalgo is the perfect example of God putting someone on this earth with just one purpose. In this case, Mr. Hidalgo's purpose was to play the congas. I remember seeing him with Batacumbele a group, who in the minds of some, was way ahead of their time. He was the one everyone eventually kept their eyes on. He was just 16-17 years old at the time.
Thing is, doesn’t matter if it’s Lang Lang on piano, Eric Clapton on guitar, Steve Gadd on drums or this amazing gentleman on Congas - it just wonderful to watch a musician who has completely mastered an instrument. I could watch this video everyday and never get bored.
where's my receipt....I don't even wanna play anymore🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️....lol.... this man leaves congas on fire when he's done. amazing💥🤙🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾💕👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
I think this solo has some of the best sound production we've seen on these LP features. Other Giovanni solos have tons of bass/shell resonance no matter what his hands are doing on the quinto (e.g. Jacket/No-Jacket solos) or have no meaningful capture of the bass tone at all. This feels closer to having my ears in the room, although the tones of the other congas seem a little too distant in the mix.
