Breaking in your new ball diff is very critical to a long lasting ball diff and setting your slipper correctly will save your diff. We show you how the pro's doing it in the video. #DriveTLR
Ok, I get all this, but what about spec buggies with no slipper? Do you run a tighter diff or is a spec motor not strong enough to damage a properly adjusted diff?
Hey Frank, great video, but what EPA do you set your radio to when you do the slipper test? 100% then adjust for track conditions or what ever you run at the track? I ask as i change my EPA depending on what track I'm running at, less for small indoor clay and more for outdoor with bigger jumps. Thanks
Barking the diff from too loose? Is that due to the ballbearings being not pressed against the rings tight enough causing bearings to spin around it of place enough to scare/score them permanently causing scratches and pits? I got the mip axle puck kit and diff rebuild kit. This my first 22 spec racer. Coming from 1:8 truggy and buggy. Less than 2 years on truggy and already installed new diff gaskets and orings. Got the sensored Castle Creations newest sensored 1515 motor and mamba monster x esc. 1 word....BEAST!!
David I’m feeling the same ! Many of my subscribers have done same as you . If I wasn’t so busy with 5th scales at the moment I would have done the same but I’m still waiting for the X Truggy to come out . When I catch up on my 5th scales and there is still no new nitro truggy ? I will definitely do the same as you and say F this permanently and move on! I’m in California with the family on vacation at the moment and hanging out with Chris Bartolone every night for dinner. Today is my last full day here so I’ll be with him all day at his shop hanging and meeting some subscribers of mine that are from here . Talk soon have a good one 🤝💥👊
Hi Guys, great video. However I have questions. I followed all the steps (hopefully) but cannot get the front wheels to lift at all when setting the slipper! To be honest, the response and speed is pretty disappointing. I'm running a 72 tooth spur with a 26 tooth pinion. 12amp ESC 3900kv motor, 7.4v 2S 60C Lipo. I wondering what I have done wrong. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Which motor? I'm experiencing something similar with 72/24 and a 17.5T motor. Probably just my inexperience but it sounds like the slipper is loose enough based on the sound.
When setting slipper and you want the front tires pop up a 1-2 inches...what about testing a 17.5 motor? I can’t get that pop with a 17.5..or do you not need the pop on a 17.5?
A lot of time in stock, the wheels won't actually come off the ground. You can just head how much the motor does or does not bog down to set the slipper, then it is almost more important to tune on the track.
He just said that it doesn’t matter because the balls in the diff are rotating both of the sitting ring. Maybe if you turn up the volume, you would listen.
@@IFCKEDAGOATWICE to be fair its a little bit hard to hear sometimes when they explain something and the camera is nearer to the car then the guy, but then again one wouldnt See that much
