Physical Modeling Synthesis: Inanga Virtual Instrument
Work in progress of physical modeling the INANGA instrument into a Virtual Instrument(VST) You will find Inaga in most East African countries especially Burundi and Rwanda. My main goal is to create Virtual Instruments of traditional instruments so they can be used in Electronic Music. Enjoy!

Hello, the idea of virtual inanga/zither is great as an player of it. Though, there is a need to adjust the tuning in the pentatonic scale. Inanga from Burundi is still using pentatonic in just intonation, where the tuning is basically based on the culture, way of speaking, singing of Burundians. We can adjust this tuning to equal temperament used by classic instruments so that it can be mixed with other music instruments.

Hi, thank you for your comment. I agree with you 100% I haven't had a chance to work on it again but yes the user would need to be able to tune it

Also, you will need to reproduce the exact inanga tone or sound on the App so that people recognize the instrument unique timbre identity. Using a nylon string or cow flesh changes the sound on inanga (Wood used: umwungo). So, there is a need to integrate both sounds. Synthetizers are able to do this by sampling different sounds.
