Inaugural SAF Military Dining-In 

the colour of drinks remind me of the chemicals kept in my secondary school science lab over 20 yrs ago

They didn't show the Chiefs puking afterwards from the rojak combination drink they came up with. Colours are one thing but did anyone even try it beforehand to figure out if it tasted palatable?

The concoction making part sounds like me trying to interpret shakespeare in english class forcing representations lol

@JoelJYYX Can't argue with you on being a universal affair. Traditional Armies do have it! This is tradition! The inaugural word is for first time SAF level! Many times it is done at the Unit or Fromation Level.

I got it. The SAF cocktail consists: -Water: Symbolising purity and neutrality -Bombay sapphire: RSAF -Blue curacao: RSN -Campari: Army -Johnnie Walker Gold Label: The Chief of Defence Force and SAF as a whole!

No it is not a universal affair. Not all military forces have it. And no this clearly isn't a tradition, since it is "inaugural".

Such an event aims to nurture cohesion, and a culture. These are essential qualities for a military. Leaders know that building intangible components are as important as building tangible ones. It has nothing about entitlement, but the process of building an organisation to fulfill its role. There are some who don't believe in the need for the SAF. They are entitled to such an opinion. But there are some who know better, whose experiences would easily demolish such armchair cynicism as naive.

Well done indeed. Military traditions are extraordinarily important, it is refreshing to see people who take it seriously. The more I see of The SAF the more impressed I am.
