@@nomadic_orthodox I think by the end Caleb was calm. And I'm not trying to be overly critical of Caleb, more just my evaluation of Casey. I felt like his attitude warrants a different volume of conversation than the "IT's nOT tHaT bAd" people.
He's working so many hours, he got fucked over by a bad relationship that cost him a fortune, he's so open to guidance, he just looks so SAD. This guy really needed a hug and more encouragement!
He avoided most questions and blamed everything on an ex he'd been separated from legally for years. He's a cry baby who can't take accountability. You hear how he talked about her not having sex with him? He was bitter as fuck
@@damabaith I’m with you. I was with someone who would WHINE like that and play the sad guy act whenever confronted with literally anything. Miserably
I'm so hardened by Caleb's usual spoiled, delusional, clout chasing guests, but this guy truly broke my heart. He seems like such a good guy, just beaten down. Wish him all the best!!!
One of the only guests who was able to say what their job and income was without going into a long rambling story about how they were born in a log cabin in 1963 and his dad wasn't around for his birth because he got stuck in traffic so his mom always resented his dad for that, and so that's why he now has $535,000 of car debt.
Calm the hell down. If you haven't noticed this is also a comedic show. He had hans kim on for christ sakes. You don't like the title then dont click on it
The clickbait titles and pictures don’t do anything for me, I watch for the content. Maybe it is effective at bringing new people in, but I think for those of us who have been watching for a while I almost feel bad clicking on it. Lol
As a relatively new watcher, I previously avoided this content specifically because of the thumbnails in particular, though the titles weren't much better. The only reason I gave it a chance was because my partner recommended it to me with a disclaimer about the titles and thumbnails

Him selling his house that he pays 500 a month total to live in is not an option, because there is no way he can live that cheap even with an extra 1000 a month
Agree, keep the house if he can. If he can get his dad moved out of his home, maybe he could then rent a room to somebody. Even $250 a month would really help him. I know he really wants his house back. His living expenses are going to go up if/when his dad moves out and isn’t covering utilities. On the other hand, he’ll be more comfortable cooking at home without his dad around and could save a lot if he stops eating out and grabbing snacks and drinks on the run.
I swear he said he was putting $100/week into his retirement when Caleb was doing the financial score. 1:15:30 Pausing that alone for a couple of months could get him rolling and stay in the house
I think we are distracted by the low price but don't realize why it's low (lack of job opportunities around). The poor guy ran his cars into the ground doing delivery for other towns 40mins away
Can’t wait for this title to be changed 3-4 times over the next hour lol edit: the ONE TIME I comment this, the title stays the same. Caleb, are you trolling me?
Jesus, that title was brutal and for no reason. I legit listened to the whole episode and thought there would be an explanation as to why it was titled that way. The guest wasn't even that frustrating either. I would think about your titles prior to posting. Bad optics when everyone has been giving you feedback that the titles / thumbnails have been weird lately.
The title is brutal but accurate. He married this woman who he never once slept with while she used him as her own personal bank. To think she wasn't doing stuff behind his back is delusional.
can we just acknowledge the fact that this is the 1st time in AWHILE where we had a straight answer to income AND hours worked on average within 10 seconds. WOOO! no crazy long, unnecessary info filled, vague story
I am a mechanic and the problem that he is referring to on the dodge charger is a very common problem on 3.6 v6 chrysler products. It is a leaking oil cooler. The part is 300$ and maybe 4 hours of labor.
I actually have the part already, it's just the issue being I broke more things in taking the old one off. Random vacuum line just shattered it was so brittle, then 3 of the 6 fuel injectors broke bc of that double locking plastic bullshit. Eventually I'm gonna get the stuff to replace that all with and just get out from under it 😬 but as for now I'm focusing on smaller accounts to lessen my monthlies
@@legendarycake5116 This one is one of the few that I think should do bankruptcy because he's drowning because of the cars mostly. The other debts too, but he's got a house, and no student loans, so a bankruptcy would scrub almost everything. If he did the bankruptcy he could drive way less door dash and he'd probably have an emergency fund within a few months if he actually got disciplined with his spending b4 hand
@reynoldswells6192 This is not how bankruptcy works. If you want to keep the car, you have to make payments and prove you can make payments. He would almost certainly have to sell the house, which would make no need for a bankruptcy. And, student loans now can only maybe be forgiven if you can't continue to make payments, and he makes enough that, with the debt wiped out, he could afford to pay.
@Youre-Welcome this dude had multiple car loans that I'm saying a bankruptcy would scrub all of except his daily driver..... which yes, he would still owe on, but even then, he might get the principal of it reduced. There's more than one kind of bankruptcy. You can file chapters 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 15. Each type applies to a specific type of debt. The most common types of bankruptcy are Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Neither of those (I don't think any infact) will take a primary residence away from you if you can afford a reduced monthly payment, basically your escrow amount plus 85% of remaining principal. A daily driver car is handled the same way. His mortgage is less than 550..... he wouldn't even need a reduced payment. And unless I'm misremembering the episode, he had no student loans, so that part is just completely irrelevant. A bankruptcy might ruin his credit, but that aside, it's a perfectly valid solution to the hole he's in and would discharge the bulk of his issues which is the consumer bullshit debt and the extra vehicles.
This is the first person on this show I really felt emotional for. He seems very genuine and overwhelmed to the point of burying his head in the depression sand. He needs to get away from toxic dad I think.
Casey- if youre reading comments - please take Calebs suggestion and find that hour a week to go to therapy. I was so broken, so defeated, and so used a year ago. Therapy really helped me climb out of the emotional depths of hell I was in. It then further helped me in so many ways. I checked out and just swiped through life, I didnt care because there was no end in sight. There is. You made a huge step in reaching out for help. Keep making these steps. You have so many internet strangers rooting for you.
Do you think your comment is enough for a person to go to therapy just because it worked for you? Therapy is for the weak who want another person to tell them the solution to their life because they are too lazy to think for themselves, with what position do you come to write being a life saved?
I really hope this guy heals. He's very humble, kind-hearted, and fully aware of his environment and his own personality. I truly hope he finds another woman who can treat him well and give him the emotional support he deserves. Wishing the best for this guy.

He could probably ask for more hours at his current job? $20.75/hour is really not bad, especially considering he said door dash only pays $500 for 40 hours a week, and he isn't figuring in maintenance.

This guy seems to have some really low self esteem. Saying things like “I’ll always find a way to fuck things up” “give me a chance and I’ll ruin it”. To all men with low self esteem issues please be cautious of women like his ex. There are narcissistic, abusive woman, who specifically seek out vulnerable men with low self esteem. Man he has been through so much trauma I can't even imagine what it's like. He seems like a good person, very self aware. Wish him nothing but success.
He needs to calculate his per hour earnings for door dash. I suspect it is less than ten dollars an hour. He makes about $600 a week doing 30 hours. Subtract $100 for taxes. $150 for maintained and gas. $50 for sweet treats and taquitos because he is always on the road and can’t eat at home. $100 in extra car payments and interest. So he is working 30 hours for maybe $200 net. If he didn’t do door dash, he could own a $2000 beater car, cook all his meals at home, get sleep, relax and he would feel 100 percent better. He would be better off doing 20 hours at McDonald’s.
My thoughts exactly. Or heck a dollar tree. Anywhere really. Especially since those 30-40hrs...how many of them are waiting for an order to come in? Not including the commute to a whole other town/city to do them in.
You're completely correct, I've seen more people on here upgrade their car to do doordash to earn extra money and it's backwards. You're driving more to pay for the car that was supposed to give you extra money.
@@cesarordaz139 he'd have to put money aside to pay his taxes as a 1099 contractor at the end of the year. "Lifetime" is one decade, or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. And for original owner ONLY. That does not include parts. Hyundai and Kia make horrible parts. His is a 2018. If he has over 100,000 miles on it, it's no longer under warranty. I am guessing he is either second owner-which voids all warrantee-or it's got over the miles.

But it's also kinda driving a dagger into someone that's already hurting /: seeing what their life won't be like in the next 6 years in his case. Like he can't reverse his choices of debt so why show him what he could have had

27:50 I think that's the depression. Dude is floating by, aware just enough to be further depressed but without the motivation / hope to make positive changes.
He really shouldn't sell the house. He took advantage of first time home buyer programs that he can't have again. His mortgage is also very manageable. Bankruptcy is the better option and it's likely he would keep the house and one of the cars.
I agree. Selling the house is a bad idea. He got lots of perks and extra help to get a mortgage and he won't find it anything like as easy to jump back on the property ladder in a couple of years. But there's something I don't understand. How can he keep the house if he declares himself bankrupt? On my side of the pond, if you declare yourself bankrupt you lose the house also.
I normally don't feel bad for most of the people who come on this show, but I genuinely felt that this guy didn't deserve tough love, he needs a hug. I've been there before, giving your all and killing yourself with debt to keep a girl happy even though she'll never be happy with you. It's a hard place to be in and he looks and sounds broken. Give the guy a hug, a beer, and financial guidance on how to get out of his position. At least he has the grit to grind, I hope and think he will be okay if he can get past his heart break. Best of luck guy.
Why isn’t the advise stop door dash and pick up another $20 hour job, and cut up cards but consolidate. The more I watch this channel the less I think it is really helpful
He doesn’t even explain how to handle money. They guy clearly doesn’t know anything about debt, he recently put debt on a cc with 100% credit rate, explain how it works to him!!!!!

Unless theees behavioural changes first, then no. Remember the old dude a couple weeks back who was in eye watering debt only several years after declaring bankruptcy? This guy has already tried debt consolidation loans and ended up where he started every single time. Therapy feels like it would be so valuable for him and I hope he goes down that route soon.
Are you forgetting the part of the video where they talked about the multiple types of debt consolidation he's done so far and how he has wrapped up all his debt again? If he doesn't change anything he will just file for bankruptcy and have massive debt again in a few years.

But also get that trauma checked out, mate; it'll change your life
I cannot figure out the logic of so many guests to buy another car when yours breaks down. His oil filter repair would have been around 600 or 700 bucks and he instead decided to borrow 20k instead? I just dont understand the thinking.
I have a friend who traded in her car, then LEASED a 2024 of the same model, is now paying $70 more per month (over $500) because the last car "needed new tired and was out of fluids." Yea, he will complain about certain things just for the sake of creating drama at this point. Like getting mad about those parents buying kid toys on Amazon
Insane that he is so set on working his current position and DoorDash when, in his own words, the amount of driving he has to do has "driven two cars into the ground". If he makes $25k/year on DoorDash, he would still not have made enough to pay off the two cars he's already burned out to do the job, let alone the car on which he currently relies. When Caleb says "are you accounting for depreciation? are you accounting for maintenance?" this is EXACTLY what he means.

Hoping for the best for this guy sounds like he has been through a lot of difficult things in life and he is still optimistic and determined to get through this difficult road of debt payments ahead. Good luck to you sir, rooting for you to turn this around.
Honestly, one of the most enjoyable audits so far. here's obviously something deeper happening to this guy and he might be living an early midlife crisis, but I appreciate his willingness to take the criticism and at least not losing being completely oblivious to the reality of his spending or having ideas of grandure. Actually, the fact that he just wants to live a very peaceful and quiet life is something I find really respectable about him, especially considering the other people Caleb has had here. I think if he manages to tighten up his budget, really tackle his debt intelligently and learn how to cook efficiently, he'll be able to pay off his debt through avalanche/snowball method and be able to take less hours at work and in turn feel less burned out. Good luck buddy.
Hope dude sees this. This is what I would do if I were him. -He said he's got 100 bucks a week going into retirement. I'd cut that out rn. He needs that money. That action alone would have him breaking even on money and actually have an extra $100ish in the budget. -Then I would sell any unnecessary stuff in the house. Couch is going on FB marketplace, TV going on FB marketplace. Any unnecessary clothes, shoes etc are being sold if they can be. All this money stacked to attack his smaller debts so he can mimize those payments. -He needs to talk to his uncles/brother. Dad has got to go. He needs a roommate in that house now. -In his free time I wouldn't be getting a third job. He should do calculations on what he's actually making on doordash when he factors in gas costs. And with that I would be searching for a substitute second job that makes more. Doordashing may be worth it moneywise but I just have a feeling it's not if he did those calculations. IN all those restaurants that he's doordashing at I would see walk in and see who's hiring and what they're paying. This can also help him on food costs bc working in kitchens you usually get at least one free meal a day. It depends on the place but again that could make that $300 grocery bill lighter. (just remembered bro works at a grocery store. Not sure how it works in Oklahoma but he might be getting deals on groceries, he should definitely be taking advantage and pay attention to when things are on sale) -Obviously cut up and cancel all those credit cards. He can't use them anymore. This should be number one tbh - He might be able to take a loan from himself on that retirement account. It's only 5k but he should be able to loan himself like 1k of it. Not ideal, but depending on the rate, it might be worth it to take the loan of himself and pay HIMSELF back on that retirement account to help kill off those smaller debts and minimize those monthly payments further. -Those cars cannot sit on the lot. I would do calculations to see how much he'd be in the hole if he sold vs repaired each car and compare them to each other. It might be worth it to keep one of the old cars and sell the newest one. There's obviously other stuff to do like talking to the lenders about insurance, talking to his boss about a possible raise or overtime, etc. etc. He's in hole rn but this is not hopeless. If you're reading this I am rooting for you and I really think you can get out of this.
