There was a time when I was a lonely virgin, wondering why women wouldn't give me a chance. Then I decided to build my confidence with extra curricular activities that involved interaction with other people. And the first few times a girl gave me a chance, I blew it. And then I knew, it takes a heck of a lot more effort than just being a "nice guy" and while I was still in the process of being myself, I realized the problem had been me all along. Now I'm happily married and while I'm glad I never turned into a hate filled incel, I look back sometimes and wonder "could that have been me?" I don't think I would have ever been at the level of state distributed girlfriend and murder fantasy that some of these psychopaths have reached though. Like seriously what the fuck.

I've always hated how, in some weird way, a persons merit is measured by whether or not they're a virgin. Especially men. God forbid someone finds out you've never had sex, because somehow that makes you a loser, whether it was by choice or if you're one of these "incels."

I once had an incel as a partner. I didn't know he was an incel when I met him. In fact, maybe HE didn't know. But I'm about to tell you how fucked up these people really are. I think I was the ideal partner for an incel. I wasn't desiring a relationship, because I had just gotten out of a serious relationship, but I still wanted some "company". I met this dude while I was working, and we both were into anime and video games so I asked him to hang out with me. I was very upfront about my intentions. I wasn't looking to date or become monogamous. Just have some fun. He said that was fine but he had only been with a woman one time. I said it was fine. We were REALLY casual. He took me out to eat and bought me some gifts for my birthday, but other than that one time, I usually paid for food because, well, I made more money. It started to go bad with his insecurities. He'd always say things putting me on a pedestal and putting himself down. It made me uncomfortable because it seemed like he was getting attached, so I began distancing myself. This is when things got CRAZY. He started telling his family and friends I was his girlfriend. I had sat down and talked to him and he'd say "I just want them to be impressed." I let it slide, even though I shouldn't have. He would come to my house, uninvited. Come IN my house without permission. It started to become stalking-territory. Which is when he found out I had an encounter with my ex, the one who I was still hung up over, and we had slept together. He LOST it at this point. He called me names. He said things like "I knew this would happen, I knew you would hurt me" etc. I was confused. The whole time I thought he realized I wasn't interested in taking things further, but apparently that didn't register. He thought I'd fall in love with him. Because he "fell in love" with me. I tried to calm him down, it wasn't really worth much. He threatened to kill himself over me. I didn't know what to do. I told him Id wait till he felt better to talk, but I had no desire to be a partner of his anymore. He didn't like that answer and I suppose needed to have me one more time. He raped me. I never went to the cops. I really don't know why. But I just wanted away. All I wanted was to be as far from the situation as possible. There were SO many red signs. The fact I didn't drop him when I noticed how HORRIBLY he would talk about women (mostly promiscuous women... like myself at the time) I ended up moving out of state shortly after even though he stopped stalking me after that night other than a message from someone else's phone that he was going to kill himself. He didn't. & That's why incels don't deserve sex.

Why do people treat sex like this cure-all of everything in the world and this amazing thing in society? I think this is their problem. They see sex as this thing they're missing out on, and they have to find somebody to blame for the reason why they're not in great shape or have bad social skills. I bet you at least 90% of those people just want to have sex so they can say they're not a virgin anymore. They most likely got bullied as a kid or something, and they want to be able to say they've had sex before. People care too much about what others think of them in society nowadays, instead of focusing on what they actually want. If you want to have sex, get in shape, or whatever form of self-improvement, do it because YOU want to do it, not because you're doing it to achieve something from someone else.

It's 2018, and I have never had to question whether or not I'm actually living in reality as much as I have this year.

Ok so I'm considered the "nice dude" by all my friends and yeah I'm in the "can't get a girlfriend" group, but and this is one hell of a big BUT, the world does not owe you a cookie in the form of a girlfriend simply for being nice. Being nice and courteous is simply expected of people and thinking that it's all you need to get a girlfriend is wrong. There is such a thing as developing a personality and without a personality beyond being nice no one no matter what is going to be interested in you as a partner. Gosh if there is one thing I wish I could wipe off the face of the Earth it's people who believe that they ought to get a partner simply for being nice.

How is it the idea of respect for both genders is so controversial? Why can't we just tell people that their relationship does not decide their worth? Why can't we just stop obsessing over sex and relationships and just focus on more important things. Yes, I do believe single men get the short end of the stick, but this is pure insanity. I mean this is moving hundreds of years behind away from progression. Why not start a movement that emphasizes that sex isn't that important? Get a hobby. Find a passion. Just look for something that actually gives you a sense of fulfillment. Be a productive human being. This shit is crazy.

My brain just doesn't click with this. with any issue, I try to put myself in other peoples shoes to see what it would feel like. I just don't understand how people can actually think like this. It's genuinely sickening.

Never heard the word Incel until a few days ago. Now I think I hear it about 50 times a day. It’s such a silly concept and the media uses it as a new buzzword like “Russian hacker.”

So let me get this straight; These are people that apply scarcity market logic to sex (Which, in itself, is not completely irrational, and fits well with the supply/demand dynamic, in some western societies), and then go and apply Marxist theory and practice to it (calls for state involvement in "fair distribution of the scarcity resource", authoritarian determination of "needs", etc.), and now employ a tactic of terrorism and disruption in order to bring awareness to their "cause", instead of advancing themselves. Are we literally entering an age of "Sex Commies"??? Also, my ego feels good now. Apparently, the chubby, socially awkward, and unkempt-bearded me is now considered a "chad" by these morons, simply because I actually put in the effort into learning how to interact with other humans, of all sorts of sexes, genders, and whatnots. I'll just leave that here. As a guy with a wheelchair-bounding disability, I feel like I'll never be seen as an equally attractive partner. And with the years, this is getting worse even when I'm prospering in other aspects of life, like studies. I do realize that I may never get a girlfriend for longer than a few months as I'm heavy maintenance. I realize that I might never have a family and kids of my own. And even if I became a university professor that'd still take a toll on me. Because I cannot do anything to help myself. I can only live my life, trying to be a decent person, while knowing that my life is way below that which most people have, while facing rejection from people I did have feelings for, or worse, severe backlash from their parents. People want the best for their kids, it's natural. And in this case, I'm trash. Even if I have a stable job and income, I'd still be trash in this regard. And I'll probably die alone, without having experienced such simple things as going out with friends, driving or even having sex. You know, feeling like my body could still be attractive and liked by someone. And yeah, I know some people fetishise disability, but I personally cannot accept that. So...incels... I don't know. Any healthy young person who is willingly giving up the chances they have makes me angry. I can't go to the gym. These guys probably can. And fit in whatever body shape they enjoy. They could use psychology to understand how interpersonal relationships work and try and develop some social skills, even if they're introverted at heart. They fuckin have freedom which I only dream of - physical freedom which gives freedom of valid choices.

Is there mental illness here? Sure. Is it depression? Probably not. Are they maybe ALSO depressed? Probably! But I don't know many depressed people who don't turn their anger inward rather than outward. That's a whole different can of worms.
