Can't understand why there aren't more subscribers to this channel. MIKE makes it plain and simple for me better than many that i have watched. THANK YOU MIKE. And please make more and post more regularly.
I've seen a few golf videos before but this is by far the best. It is well explained, simple and not complicated. If I lived in the U.S I would go to this teacher for lessons. Brilliant. Alan Hancox
Question: When I swing with either hand I get a loud swoosh at impact contact point, When I use both hands, the left arm jams up and prevents fast speed. What could cause that and how might I correct it. Thanks PS: Great video.
The switch is the unconscious unhinging of the wrists and crossover of the forearms that occurs when the club head passes the center of the chest. Any attempt to muscle this switch is counter productive because thrust is different than centripetal force, and so the timing and power is interrupted. The switch is best felt/allowed up in the elbows and forearms to make sure the wrists stay passive followers. The switch can happen so fast that it is blurry to the viewer. Its called the release, and the brain needs to let go and just expect it to happen. Good luck.
@@golfersreport8852 Thank you for this explanation. I'm a senior female golfer who drives straight, but only in the 160 range. With driver I have been concentrating on swinging "out" to keep from pulling shots. With irons I can allow the elbows and forearms to turn. Somehow this doesn't work with Driver.
Excellent video. Something about hitting a ball that “counts” slows me down, or causes me do poorly adjust my swing.......I guess it’s the trust factor I’m missing.
When I swing the club without pulling in I have a tendency to pull my shots to the left. I caught myself doing this watching my swing on video. I will use my training aid as u have to try and have to 90° on both sides
hello John the Mike Austin reference propelled me to go back and look at Michael Austin videos. I especially like the one where he’s dressed with a skeleton suit on.
I appreciate what you are saying but all the top RU-vid instructors advocate a body swing and the arms moving as one together with the body. Additionally, the club face is set square to the target line so that when you start the downswing, there is no manipulation required of the arms and wrists to square up the club face at impact which can be inconsistent at best. I know it feels fast just swing the arms as the main primemover which I used to do and the ball could go anywhere but now I am in control with a body swing and I actually hit my clubs 20 yards further than I ever did and I am 68 years old. An analogy would be Ben Hogans baseball swing, where he swings both arms and body as one and finishes to the left. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
Robert the new experts that teach top players and juniors do advocate a body driven golf release. If you are a good athlete and can already hit a draw and you have a nice pivot.. Then you can derive good power and consistency by relying on a pivot to hit a ball straight, powerful and consistent.

What is your definition of a "roll release"? You can roll the grip any way you like with this release. It all depends on where you prefer to be on the plane. This is only garbage if you don't appreciate valuable information. In reality he demonstrates flexion/extension and ulnar/radial deviation. A roll is COMPLETELY different. Would love to hear your definition.
