On Saturday July 20th I had the chance to try something I'd never done before. A sightseeing flight complete with a takeoff and landing on the waters of Loch Lomond situated 30 minutes north of Glasgow. I have to say a massive thanks to David, the pilot who allowed me to sit right seat and learn a little more about this type of flying in this type of aircraft, a really enlightening experience!
Our route took us Southwest after departure, giving us great views of Bute, Jura, the Isle of Islay, the Isle of Arran as well as a low pass at 100 feet along the coast of the Isle of Gigha before heading back towards Loch Lomond for an incredible landing low over Balloch Castle, you'll see us waving at onlookers below!
Absolutely fantastic experience, would do this again in a heartbeat!
Aircraft for this experience was a 2016 built Cessna 208 Caravan registered G-LAUD
