Yeah I'm convinced this server has some of the best ship designers in the SE community. So many people never see ships designed for multiplayer servers cause they don't get published often.
You made a great video for some great ships! Clear and clean walkthroughs, with notable features and highlights. I really need to give SE multiplayer a try. :D
@@alphamatte4259 Any chance you would make a video on the mods on the server? Outside of the Aryx Lynxon Epstein Drives the other mods on the server are unique to the Expanse server I believe.
@@MrBlackdragon1230 I did a video on the weapons already! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HOZ0vfwuaWE.html There are so many unique mods though it'd be a long video. The admins have put in a ton of work and some of the mods are actually plugins on the server side so I couldn't show those off anyways.
@@alphamatte4259 I had seen that one and it was really great. I was wondering about all the other unique mods for the server, but yeah It seems like there is quite alot of mods for the server. Its cool thank you for all the vids you are doing from the server. Im working on learning the vertical build from the video you posted.
These are some amazing ships. I have enough difficulty completing ships in creative (I'll get bored with a concept before a ship is done and move on to a fresh instance). I can't imagine assembling these in survival.
Its sooo tempting to get in. This might be the Server i am looking for but I have no idea how to start. Well.. Time to read that Beginner manual of yours :D
One thing I'm realizing more and more about the average multiplayer server (I primarily play on a "Chaos" server with minimal rules and effectively no limit to ship size) is how small most builds are compared to what i'm used to seeing.
I am not very familiar w/ what's available in the SE Programming Block API but I would think it should be possible to write a script to control a gravity generator to simulate thrust gravity. Since there's a speed limit in SE they'd have to fudge it a bit or use the "boost" setting to inform the behavior. While accelerating actually calculate gravity and use that, when boosting use 1G maybe, while drifting us 0G. They could mod in a thrust gravity block like the Command Console to prevent from having to hand out the scripting role. The modded block could also have much more friendly power requirements instead of the normal SE behavior where the power used is proportional to the volume of the gravity gen and the acceleration, since the gravity is coming _from_ the motion of the ship it could have very little power usage. The block would be there to just give the behavior of thrust gravity. Then if you wanted gravity on a station or wanted it all the time on a ship you could use a normal grav gen and pay the cost of the energy for it.
Yes that should be relatively easy but most people are just waiting for the event controller block to come out so they don’t have to use a script to do it.
I'm wondering. Can't you fake thrust gravity by using an event controller to detect the thrust level of any of the big thrusters to enable and disable a gravity generator?
Is there any way to get my hands on these blueprints? I love building in the expanse style but im not very good at it and would love to have a ship to use on the server that i can call my own
Two of them are linked in the description. A lot of them are not for public release because of the politics and PvP of the server. OPSEC is extremely important for a lot of these factions. That is one reason I wanted to make this video - so many good multiplayer builds never see the light of day because of how OPSEC and faction politics work on servers. I make a clarification about this in the outro of the video.
@@alphamatte4259 Cheers i was just curious im relativly new to the server and have only seen the heat sigs of these ships before i see a torp, its nice to see the type of ships ive been attacked by. looking forward to seeing more videos like this in the future. :)
I have a question as someone who owns SE but never got too into it, on one of these big servers w factions, are the ships you build just gone forever when destroyed? Is there like a respawn point? Is there some sort of blueprint system? don’t know the systems too well, was scared off of SE bc of the learning curve, but I played a bunch of KSP and X4 so i should be able to hang
@@alphamatte4259 Do you have to grind for the resources to print it? and do you have to go into single player to use creative to built the initial ship, or can you do that in the server? sorry for all the questions haha
@@Veegs. yes you have to mine and refine and assemble just like all survival servers. You can build the initial ship in singleplayer. We have a creative world people can download. Link to the discord is in the description.
Thanks! Yeah this one had to be done in creative mode unfortunately - getting all these ships in one place on server would have been borderline impossible due to timezones and such
