I've watched your shorts a lot but never noticed your last name. I went to school with a Portela in Puerto Rico, I don't know if it's a common last name outside of Puerto Rico but my friend's family is the only one I knew there.
Stop popping abscesses like they're blackheads! If you're gonna do it at home (and I know you're gonna do it at home), clean the area, soap & water are more than enough to make a good sterile area, wear gloves, DO NOT put your noggin in the line of fire because what's inside does contain bacteria (and you don't want in your face, specially your eyes). You can buy syringes and just poke, very gently, a couple of holes so the draining process starts slowly (you don't wanna cause more pain on somebody) then, VERY gently start putting pressure AROUND the abscess so you help with the drainage. If you have medical experience, you can grab an 11 blade and open the abscess itself. BUT. Go to the doctor. An abscess contains bacteria, which means even if you drain the whole pocket, you still need to take care of the infection. Your doctor will probably place some sort of gauze soaked with antibiotics, leaving the wound open for further passive draining, probably prescribe you antibiotics and an appointment in a couple of days to see how the healing process is doing. Be on the safe side, any doctor or nurse knows how to properly drain and treat an abscess.
