This is an tractor trail magnet I build on a lathe and a milling machine from brass and neodymium magnets.
I was inspired by the Grand Illusions video "Amazing Discovery With Magnets".
No, I don´t sell them.
The dimensions that worked for me:
Inner magnets: Diameter 15 mm; total height: 11mm (any combination works eg. 3+3+5mm, only total height is important),
6 identical outer magnets all pointing in the same direction (eg. up=north) and opposite to the
center magnet (eg.up=south): Height 6mm, Diameter: 6mm;
Diameter of bolt circle: 23 mm. Height of brass ring: 6mm, Diameter of brass ring: 30mm.
Fix the outer magnets with Locktite so that they are exactly at the same height. The
inner magnets will automatically adjust at center height if it's not a too tight fit.
I don't remember the streng of the magnets I used. If it doesn't work, then experiment with the height
of the center stack.
The material of the fixture doesn't matter as long as it's not magnetic.
(That means don't use iron, chrome, nickel)
