She doesn't get the credit she deserves. When people talk about the great artists of our time, no one ever mentions Pink, but she's always been one of my favorites. My sister had her first CD and I borrowed it when I was a teen, and never gave it back... I think it's one of the few CDs I still have in storage.
Her husband Carey Hart and both her children are in this video. You are right, she didn't trust love at first. She met Carey in 2001 and they split in 2003 but got back together. They got married in 2006 but separated in 2008 (that brought on songs like, "So What"). Then they got back together once again in 2010 and have been together ever since. Her daughter Willow is the one she is reading the story to and you briefly see her son Jameson with them in the back of the station wagon. I love that the whole family is in a video about the wisdom she wants to pass on.
OMFG! YAY! More P!nk. She is amazing. And woo-hoo, you reacted to the FULL video many miss. And the cameos in this video are amazing. Judith Light plays P!nk's mother and then you've got Cher!!! Iconic.
Loved older pink stuff, hadn’t seen this one before and wow that is a pretty powerful video. Your silence trying to process it tells a story in itself.
Love P!nk, best concert I have ever been to (3X) and at 62 I have been to many, many concerts of many of the best bands and artists in the world. She is amazing...
Me too. I'm 61 and started going to concerts at 12 (The Carpenters). Nobody puts on a show like Pink. She's a rock concert and a Cirque show at the same time.
Ah! Wish I could chat with you. There are a million songs I think you'd love. I'm the same way with getting chills. If something hits me right, the music, the vocals, the lyrics, I literally get goosebumps and the hair on my arms will stand up.@@antonreacts
Yes, that's her daughter, Willow. When she's pushing the car uphill, the 2 children spitting out the window are Willow & her son, Jameson. If you want to hear her story, listen to Family Portrait. She sings her childhood pain. Also, she & Carey had a very tempestuous relationship but could never stay apart. She sings about all of it in song after song. "Guess I just lost my husband...." & "You're a tool...." but there he is in the videos. "It's like he speaks Polish & I speak Italian." They finally found a counselor who "speaks both." She is absolutely amazing.
You are correct - it's her daughter. As others mentioned her husband and son are in the video too; her husband has been in several of her videos through the years. Please check out more, including her 2019 Hurts2BHuman album. Fun fact: She wrote a couple of songs for Cher, for her latest album a few years ago. Impossible to pick 3 favorites, so I'll just throw out 3 of my 100 favorites: * I DON'T BELIEVE YOU, *THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY, and *WHO KNEW. And remember, if possible, react to a live performance because they are the best!
Love this song!!! Pink is so inspirational. Check out any of her interviews and her approach to life...I can definitely relate and hopefully some day will reach her level of awesomeness! And yep those are her kids and her husband.
All I can say is that I love your reactions! I see how some songs are appreciated by sheer lyrics, and some are appreciated through the unity of lyrical and video…..and some lead you to a spiritual rumination that lingers into your critique. You are a joy to watch…..wish we could ‘hang’ and share music together…..but this is the next best thing! Thanks for being that friend that just wants to share good music. Your appreciated!
P!nk is beyond. Just beyond. Legend in music, that like so many other ladies before her.....not getting the credit for the power of her music. But something that hit me different was not a song of hers. It was her "Michael Jackson Video Van Guard" award speech to her daughter. That was when she became beyond next level to me.
I love that Pink tries to include her family in the videos if it works. If she even needs a love interest in a video it's always her husband. It's nice to see.
Both her kids Willow and Jameson and her husband Carey are in the video. I think you only see her son when she's pushing the car up that hill. I'm guessing those giant trolls or whatever they are, are meant to represent music execs, or at least that's how I saw it. And when she keeps pushing her husband away is obviously their rocky relationship, she pushes him away but he's always there. P.S.: From all accounts, she is an incredible mom.
I watched it 4 times!! There are also some good older documentaries that go more in-depth as far as her childhood, and the effect her parents divorce (when she was 9) had on her.
I made a big mistake. When this song came out, I first listened to it on the bus on the way to work. Literally every album Pink puts out, there's one song that makes me cry. Unfortunately, it was this one. The mother/daughter dynamic hits a little too hard, next thing I'm on a bus, trying to hide that I'm crying my eyes out.
