Thank you for your channel. You are a very good teacher really enjoy your way of teaching. I am 73 years old and always wanted to Learn to play music am learning a lot from you keep up the good work Regards from Western Australia
Hi, Norman. I just wanted to know how you are going with your learning the uke. I'm about 50 and just as you I always wanted to learn to play some music. I chose the uke a few weeks ago, for budget and skills concerns, and I must say Kevin seems to be a very good teacher. Regards from Lima, Peru.
I was struggling a lot at the begining, but what really helped me was getting practice! Whenever watching tv or something, take your hand and tuck your thumb torwars the inside if that makes sense. When you look at the front of your hand, you will be left with four fingers and can pretend they are strings. (Pointer would be G, middle C, ring E, and pinkie A. This helps you learn it faster since you can do it any time (even when you don't have your ukulele). After day 2, I can play it smooth and fluently and am excited to see what I can do with this. Thank you for teaching such a beautiful pattern! 💗
What's up Mike! How's the weather up there? What kind of uke are you strumming on these days? Thanks for checking out the video and hope you'll dig into some of the other stuff on my channel. Keep in touch - kp

Hey how's it going? Thanks for commenting and checking out the video. I appreciate the kindness and hope you'll check out some of the other videos on my channel. Just a heads up, I do have free pdfs w/ lesson worksheets and exercises on my main website. What kind of ukulele do you play? kp
AllForUke My uke is a Neewer concert size. I just started last fall and am totally self-taught so I've seen plenty of videos and your's is awesome. I have subscribed & will check out more!
Easiest fingerpicking explanation I've seen. Thanks! Btw, those first 3 chords sound like the beginning of George Harrison's Something In The Way She Moves.
MERCI INFINEMENT pour cette excellente lecon parfaitement explique, j ai toujours chercher la methode de finger picking, et enfin j ai trouve le meilleur. encore merci et a vous bonne chance
You are a very good teacher! When I first started fingerpicking, your Travis pick lesson was the first one I watched and practiced. “Planting the pinkie” has really been a key foundational skill for me. I have found other Travis pick techniques also, especially the “outside -inside” technique. Don’t Think Twice sounds great with a Low G!
Hey Sara - I have an entire series on fingerpicking on my channel if you’re looking for some new patters to check out. Thanks for learning with me :) Kevin
arghhhh ! That was fun. :) Contadicting, huh ? This makes me sound like I know what I am doing. Do you have fingerpicking for Elvis' Can't Help Falling in Love ?
I like your method of teaching. Particularly your Travis picking. I’ve watched other videos of Travis picking and they do different patterns is there a right or wrong pattern?
Hello! Can you please tell me if you EVER use the ring finger for fingerpicking? I ask because Youcisian is teaching this method. I want to learn the most efficient way to pick!
Welcome aboard, happy to have you :) For more learning resources such as practice tracks, song sheets, and exclusive content, drop by the AllForUke community site and have a look around. All the best - Kevin | allforuke.com
Hi Kevin! I'm still here, happy & still uku-ing... I'm just loving your classes... This fingerpick pattern is cool. Am on Day 8 on Kickstart. Can you please give me a chord for my baritone tuning (D_G_B_E)? I could figure something out but it would take me a few days of theory, and my brain is tired...
Hi there, I found only using thumb and indexing finger are a lot easier for me. My method is using thumb for top two strings and indexing fingers for bottom two. Anyone is the same?
That is cool for some patterns, but if you can use 3 and ever 4 fingers, you'll really expand your capabilities and speed once you get the hang of it. I would definitely try and stay w/ at least 3 fingers.
I play lefty, but without inverting the strings (I tried it, experienced it a little while, and finally decided to have the original GCEA, essentially to be able to share my uke with everybody, try other ukes without feeling from other planet) so I had to adapt this pattern to my hand, and it's now Mid Ind Ring Thmb... M.I.R.T. :) To respond your answer, I think you must try both methods, give a chance to Kevin's, go back to yours, then try other FPing patterns, like this one (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rHXXNkZa1rI.html)... and finally come back a few days later to this Travis one and finally chose YOUR favorite method. I'd be happy to read your conclusion.
Why do different videos show different patterns and call them Travis patterns? It's very confusing. I practice one and then go to another video and it's completely different.
