Listening to this, I can’t help but picture as this: First it starts off with only one of them beatboxing to himself while wandering down a city street, and steadily more and more come to join him and eventually becoming the finished project.
The thing is- This version is surprisingly melancholic and a bit... Uneasy. This constant feeling of suspense and a dark night follows me every time I listen to it. It's haunting, even.
i think it’s pretty haunting too. some of the sung parts feel like mourning song and kinda sad, the loudness of the beats make it feel like something is tense or running. there’s cooing or i guess owl sounds that add to the feel, making it ominous, and the whispered “easy, easy” that kinda rushes in makes the whole vibe feel urgent and spooky. i feel like i’m running through a dark alleyway while there is a party going on nearby, all of them unaware of what’s happening

all the sounds together give me a feeling of hearing this in the middle of a gray metropolis, inside a taxi while it was raining outside... it's pretty specific but that's what I imagine

I just realized each groups wears different hats. Beats= Normal hat Effects=Backward hat Melodies=Fedora Voice=Fedora but different Chorus=Idk what hat is that
This one is one of the ones I struggle to enjoy, but this vid makes me realize that being limited to only 7 sounds severely cripples how it sounds. All together or even with just more than 7 at a time this is absolutely amazing.

this gives me a little storyline. the top row are a popular hiphop group in the 90’s and they accidentally go back in time to the 50’s where the main genre was jazz and rock ‘n roll. the hip hop group go by to make a last minute gig at a nearby club and they invite the jazz group to join with to make this song.
