Thank you for this! I've farmed incursion for money for multiple leagues now and always assumed room selection was predetermined and there was nothing you could do about it. The whole "no two encounters of the same type" in one map thing is brand new knowledge to me!
@@dashfrone352 you were scammed by tft basement dwellers.. what they do is make sure at least 15-20 of them are at the top of awaken poe trade so when you try to look up the price what you see is their scam prices bc they're the first ones to rack up your and every other noob that don't know this, posetions. They do this with everything and you can usually see them when you click the amount of stock a given player has. Reselling whatever you sold at 3times the price in bulk. They also RTM bc all of them dont work so this is how they accumulate their in game wealth to have enough to scale more and start selling mirrors or divine to the casual player that just want to have decent build. They are also the op build gate keepers, making sure whenever a ytuber upload a video to go inflate the prices or have deflated prices to rack up all noobs items and go resell them in tft. Spread the message if you encounter another noob, this is how we crumble their mafia.
I run Alva every league and in general, killing the bottom left architect is the best option when you don't have the desire rooms in the main layout. Because it will turn every tier 1 into a tier 2, and that tier 2 can turn into a desired tier 3. In other hand, when you have the desired rooms in your layout, just turn any other into tier 3 in your first two maps to block those rooms. Leave the map works, but you need more missions or buy sextants, that's up to you. Personally I never do that and I get the room I want 80% of the time.
@@justinhowe3878 I'd have to see a link to believe. The Priming method of taking the western side to get a room to tier 2 instead of gambling on getting a tier 3 upgrade and getting rid of the room is far more consistent.
@@Ashtarte3D When you upgrade by killing the eastern architect, you get at least tier 2 anyway, with a 50% chance for a tier 3. When you flip by killing the western architect, you always get a tier 2, with no chance for tier 3. How is killing the western one any better?
@@ViktorBerg Say you are in a fresh temple. It doesn't spawn with your desired room (corruption). If you go for east - you have a chance to start eliminating rooms from the temple as they become T3. This benefits you IF you get a corruption room in the future and it is T1 or T2 (ie you hit it on a fresh T0 or T1 room) - as you need to get the corruption room again before you get T3, and less rooms means higher chances. Contrast this with western architect approach. Every room you upgrade to T2 is another chance that when you hit the corruption room, it's in a room that's already T2 - meaning INSTANT T3 locus. It's arguable which approach is better - but my intuition is the latter is slightly better as it increases the chances of you getting an instant T3 locus. The chances of you getting a corruption room late into temple making and hitting it once again to get T3 is not common, so you're better off increasing your chances of getting a T3 straight up. Of course if you already have a corrupt room in your temple go east and upgrade always.
Temple Nexus at tier 3 does not require connections anymore. At tier 1, it will choose 1 room that's connected to level and at tier 2, it will choose 2. You can use that to your advantage for minmaxing. Some other things to note that are outside of a creating to sell video: Sanctum of Immortality can be about a divine return with a Mask of the Spirit Drinker drop Apex of Sacrifice can be a little extra money, but requires some pieces. You can use it too like an ancient orb at tier 2 and tier 3. And a piece of history : When you could still get divines from 6l's, The Storm of Corruption with a Corrupting Tempest was a SOLID way of getting a bunch. Thanks for making this video!
oh man what a timing, almost a thousand hour in poe and I never bothered to learn about Incursion. I went in blind and gave it a try yesterday. I had no clue what I was doing. Thanks to you I get to learn a lot today. Can you do the same for Betrayal? Please go into all the details about all the choice, position, rewards. Thank you.
@subtractem One thing you didn't mention - speed room. Even if you have doryani/locus room at level-2. But you happened to have speed room nearby - you can make it as level-3 in final chronicle. Only thing is - you obviously want to unlock as least doors from speed room as possible. So it won't upgrade wrong room. Unless you upgraded it to 3, in which case you can can unlock all passages.
Thanks for video. Alva is my favorite mission. Just gives me that Indiana Jones vibe. But I will recommend as someone who runs these alot, if you can get blue wisps to about 3k and then run the incursion you will get a ton of currency this league. I have gotten multiple divines. It is very much worth it to kill the minions for the loot explosion when you leave.
One trick you can also do is, if you let the timer expire i.e. don't kill either architect, both will remain in the pool and can possibly appear in the very next room (even in the same map). It's a small edge case, but if you're down to your last two incursions and get a corruption chamber on a bad room (tier 0 or non-empowered 1), you can let that incursion expire and there will still be a chance of it appearing on a better room (tier 2 or empowered 1) and temple gets saved. (If it's the 3rd/4th last incursion I think it could possibly be better to take the t1/2 corruption chamber, leave the map and bet on the last incursion to hit it again. Dunno, haven't done the maths :P)
that is not how this works. ive made nearly the same video three times now, just updating the strat with new changes, and it's never changed the market at all. the demand is way too high for how much people want to engage with this strategy.
Nice vid as always sub, Here’s what I’ve learned from my time of playing poe is that the key to making big money is finding a farming method which streamers don’t make a video about . Even the price of socks can jump to divines or fall to alts depending on if there’s a video about that 😂
holy smokes the atlas passives give end game so much diversity. the nature of the good rooms means the value should not go down too much even if lots of people farm them
Yep, doing it this entire league. Still bricked few chronicles. But the rest of chronicles had at very least Doryani or Locus. Few had both (5-6 div) Also, as usual, Incursion works best with Delirium Mirrow. With 4 of those encounters, and atlas passive that increases chance to spawn magic and rare mobs in incurious - that alone will give you 5+ progression for mirror.
I never bothered with this content, but as I see it the double corrupt room is just as much for gambling as yellow juice is. This is only my second league but I definitely noticed the "people like to gamba towards league end"-effect with my yellow juice sales, so i imagine for these rooms its atleast similar.
My farm strategy : Crop rotation harvest + growing hordes (im using gilded 40/1div) + seventh gate... 3 days of farm get mageblood and nimis (2 day if u have faster map)
Bruv you got that pay to win rng ggg gives to their spenders. If you have spend more than 70$ at this point, it should be a given that you have increased drop rates and better rng. You're not doing anything special. And just to prove this to you, I did that strat for almost for an entire week and made a total of 19k yellow juice, 16k red and 17k blue.. I aint farming a mageblood in 2days. I avg about 300-600 avg juice if I exclude the 1 in every 20maps big juice explosion which to this date my max is 1.9k juice. I haven't spend more than 60$ on poe which explains my rng and drops. I also understand now why the game director hates dev cards.. its the only part of the game that doesn't use this. Which means anyone can get lucky
@mob3307 I call BS on you. In my juiced maps I will get 1500 to 2000 harvest juice, and I'm not even specced into it. I run other strats but I usually take the harvest because it is good monney. I guess you are only running white T1 maps ? What you say you get in a day, I could probably get in one hour.
@@mobb3307 huh? U know harvest juice kinda expensive rn, and for crop rotation as long as u got 4 or 5 set of plant u got at least 1.5k yellow juice... If u know how to run crop rotation Edit : ok and why the heck u rambling bout spending, i only buy 6 extra stash, 1 premium and currency tab
ive been doing beasts + essence for the last week and was able to get HH and Mageblood so now im just kinda looking for something else to do ty ill check out Alva
First off! Thanks for the guide! Always ignored Alva cause I didnt want to learn the mechanic. Second, what is your build and how much to get it going? I have a MB (who doesn't, right).
I've been running this (thank you for the video, I'd always ignored alva previously but its actually quite chill to do). Regarding the price, is that selling on TFT? Because the price via trade seems to be going down. Doryani down to 1.1 div and I'm not getting whispers. Locus at 5.4 and seems similar. Both trending downward on PoE Ninja but maybe thats just normal for this stage in the league? I'd be surprised if your video changed the market significantly but maybe you're more popular now than you think! Your content has been great for so long now, thanks again. @@subtractem
Not sure if they changed the chances but I've had really bad luck on my temples this league. They're usually steady money makers but I've only been able to get a few Locus or Doryani temples. Full Incursion spec so it's not that I'm not getting good upgrade RNG, it's that I'm just not getting good rooms lol
thanks for this, really nice info to know - essp for a new player like me. If I can ask to add anything it might be why those rooms are worth what they are worth? Do they have a rare drop, if so what is it etc.
I was also curious, but it looked like a Cast While Channeling build that uses Cyclone to trigger Cortex, and then Frostblink as a mobility skill. Hoping he comments on it because it did look really good. Edit: Looking closer, the sword is Cospri's Malice (trigger socketed cold spell, and added cold spell damage), the shield is Malachai's Loop for Power Charge stacking, Ralakesh's Impatience, and Badge of the Brotherhood for Power Charge Max is Frenzy Charge Max. That should mean 8 of each, unless there's another +Power Charge on the build somewhere. Presumably the gloves have an implicit for Cold Exposure on Hit, Lightning Coil gives 50% Phys taken as Lightning. No idea if Vortex is in the sword or the chest.
@@penguindrummaster his profile is public, you can just type his name into pob and import his character, it is an assassin CoC cyclone/vortex of projection with frostbolt in his weapon
@@subtractemWhen I wrote that it'd dipped a little from what I was selling at yesterday (had to adjust the price on a chronicle I put up before I went to sleep, from 6div to 5.5), but it's moving back up now; thanks for the boost! Was panicking over nothing.
if you explain something to people that don't know about the topic yet it's hard to follow even at 0.75 speed. you speak and click things pretty fast. beside that: thanks for your content.
I kinda sad, cause farmed MB this way (now market will be flooded with temples), but at a same time happy cause they'll go cheaper and i can swap to full on boss rush (before i ran Guardians/Conquerers + Essence + Alva + Harbingers + improved Lab)
A heads up about the atlas passive Architects of the Vaal: this node gives 4 incursions per map (instead of 3). Since the game does not allow you to enter the same incursion twice in a map, it actually decreases (slightly) the chance that you will be able to upgrade your rooms to level 3. If your main concern is to get level 3 rooms, it's best to NOT spec into Architects of the Vaal.
Yes. But if you're running the temple yourself and want a chance for some additional loot, you can just one incursion in a t16 map and the temple lvl will be set to it.
I'm messy with the "lock chamber" and "leave fast/early for another chance to upgrade", Do i just left instantly as i end the encounter if corrupting chamber is tier up? Also, how "lock" the chamber?
On the very last map where you're doing your final 4 incursions in the temple is there any reason to go in and kill the architect to update a dead room? You won't be able to later swap that room to a locus of corruption since it's your final 4, right?
If you're strictly selling temples instead of running them yourself, then no, there's no point to upgrade random rooms once both gem and corruption are on the map. If you're running your own temples, there are some rooms with potential value, like Flame Workshop 3 can drop some valuable bases with temple mods such as 50% increased damage against chilled enemies mod on gloves. A perfect 50% roll of that mod on dex gloves is 20 divs right now and if you're feeling lucky and fracture it, now those gloves are worth 300 divs just as a base for crafting. Also, he didn't need to bother killing the architects not because he was on his final 4 incursions, but because he couldn't get the option to swap anyway because level 1 corruption chamber was already a room on his temple map. His only chance was to spawn that room and hope to hit the 50/50 to go from level 1 to 3.
If I already have Corruption and Gemcutter on but not upgraded, can I "save" 1 Incursion and augment my chances or getting these rooms by abandoning a map if I see the last Incursion of a map is NOT either of these 2 rooms?
Lets me just add that if you have wisp & MF in your strat, doing the full clear of Alva is very profitable, kinda nice explosion, often 1-20 divines falling at least once a map.
One allows you to double corrupt a gem, since there was a lot of transfigured gems released this patch and quality of gems was massively buffed, people really want to get 21/20 transfigured gems which do not drop so you have to corrupt them yourself, double corrupt makes that easier. The other room allows you to double corrupt any gear. People want this room because this league everyone has more money than sense and uniques are dropping like candy, so it makes previously expensive uniques actually feasible to double corrupt for two implicits in addition to the regular stats. Uniques are good to double corrupt as well because you don't have to craft a new one every attempt like you have to with rare items. Hope this explains it for you.
Only for connecting to the Apex if you're trying to sell them. Even if you don't get the high value rooms connecting to Apex makes the temple saleable because of the challenge to kill 80 Omnitechs.
Alva has been a money making strategy for a few leagues now and with the new transfigured gems, double corrupting is easy profit so it's not going to halve your profits.
I would recommend against the 4 Incursions per map notable if you really want to farm this. While it does reduce maps needed by 1 it raises the risk of bad temples tremendously. Alva cannot offer the same room she previously has in the current map. So if you get the one of the two desired rooms but they do not proc the double upgrade you will not see that room offered until next map. Also a strategy to note is Blocking and Priming. Blocking is intentionally maxing rooms if a desired room is already on the temple while Priming is swapping a room so next time you are offered that room it is ready to go to tier 3 guaranteed and hopefully be a desired room.
You take the 4 incursions notable and stop doing incursions in this map after encountering the good room. Precisely because the same room cannot be encountered twice, your fourth incursion has much higher chance to be the upgrade of good room. Without it you’ll too often end up with lvl 1-2 good rooms, ie garbage. It’s pretty well known strat.
