Incus 6.1 is released and here's a quick review. ------------ Come visit us at: www.scottibyte... Discourse: : discussion.sco... RocketChat: chat.scottibyt...
I've moved my homelab containers from lxd to incus using incus's aptly named 'lxd-to-incus' utility last night. This process was smooth as heck on Ubuntu 24.04 and so far incus's snapshotting, copy/move from/to other servers (one being Debian 12), etc has been perfect. Excellent work, team!
Clearly the work we are seeing from Stephane's team is moving forward. LXD and Incus have already started to diverge somewhat. Don't forget to join the chat chat.scottibyte.com/.
This may peculiar to my setup, but I noticed that after applying the update, containers reliably get an an IP when set to boot.autostart=true. Something that often required an incus restart previously.
boot.autostart=true means that when the server starts, the container starts. Each container that is started at boot time should receive an address automatically. If your containers required a restart to get an address, I would look to the configuration of the incus server itself.
@@scottibyte 6.1 seems to have resolved the issue, but strangely containers running docker inside always got an IP. Those that didn't were hit and miss.
