Join us for day two onboard Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas. We cover a lot of ground from Playmakers to the water slides with the belly flop competition in between. We board the independence in June and the Mariner in October. I guess we will do specialty dining in October.

Different cruise. We did Indy twice. One couldn't have been better weather (this vlog). The other not so much. But, yes, we DID get to visit Nassau after our port day was cancelled. That Vlog is yet to come.

Loved this vlog! First time cruisers...on Indy next Friday!!! I will have my 11 and 15yo with me. What did your kids do in the evening while you went to casino and comedy show? Thanks!

When they were younger we'd place them in Adventure Ocean. In this VLOG they were 15 and almost 12. We gave them a pretty good leash. Told them they had to use the "buddy system". Nobody goes anywhere solo. Later in the evening when we went to the casino they stayed in the room and watched movies. Our kids are pretty good rule followers so we were comfortable that they'd be ok. We tried like heck to get them to do some of the teen activities like dodgeball and the meet and greets but they're a bit shy. There are a lot of options though for kids.

Did you see people wearing masks and is the ship large enough to absorb the waves? Worries about sea sickness

We noticed a few people wearing masks here and there but to be honest by the last day I don't recall any. It was very calm when we were onboard so I can't speak too much about waves. But my understanding is most cruise ships have stabilizers to help with motion.
