Papa you are a great man.. God annointed you as our Moses and gave us freedom and independence without bloodshed... Your wisdom that God gave you has united this country of 100 tribes to be united... I only wonder how life would be now if we had not gain independence... No need to look beyond.. Just look at how the Australian indigenous people are treated in their own land... Thank God for sending one of your own GC Somare to lead this country blessed with all the natural resources you can think of to independence... You have fulfilled your great commission and now taken to be with the good Lord.. RIP our Moses our Mandela..

Every country has its own history.No developed nation became rich and developed over night.Most countries loose independence status and some not even achieving their vision.Sir Michael together with others with the same faith has done so well and deserve respect from every Papua New Guinean.we are an example to many countries.

You are my great Hero Grand Chief in a sense that you stood for what you believed and delivered it. Your legacy will live on for our younger generation to come. Your journey to freedom and independence for the thousand tribes truly manifests what a true Chief should do for its people. Your determination and sacrifice has paved way for many PNG's to enjoy the freedom today - a land they will call their home. You were a great diplomat and the mouthpiece for great unity for the thousand tribes. Grand Chief, you gave us our cultural identity and restored our birth right from what would have been lost through the era of colonialism. Forty years from now, we see ourselves as privileged to live in a country as a first class citizen - rights to our ancestral land that are protected as our livelihood depends more from it. Seems the colonizers granted Political independence for PNG to govern its deeply diversified social structure. Challenge now for current advancing leadership is to attain prudent economic independence. Until tangible economic liberation is achieved, PNGns remain slaves & beggars in your God blessed paradise island.
