Although Dr Adrian has his metrics that are based on overinflated currencies which give an inflated view of the EU economy, why is Germany, EU and the west not able to churn out weapons like what Russia is able to do??? Russia is spending hardly 5% of their gdp in weapons manufacturing, why are the EU states not able to keep up in this war??? I'd like to get on the panel and ask a few questions.

Their not able to since USA wants them to buy us weapons which is why a european defense industry have never materialised. Nato docctrine says same tacticts same weapons and so on which is based in washington.

@hyperbeast134 it's a scam just to plunder Europe off its wealth. The American weapons aren't meant for a European war. Europe has always had brutal land wars, the Americans have no concept of what a land war really means. They're a naval power.

Part of the asnwer is the quality of weapon (western weapons are expensice and more sophiscated as compared to cheap and easy to produce russian weapons) and pre existing industial production capacity.

These guys keep repeating their bs. These are talking shops. I think a good panel should have people with opposing views and should have at least one person from the country being discussed who can present that country's views.

"India has bettter and better relations with the US"....The US only has power relations , as a hegemon, not good or bad relations. US policy from 2000 has been " disaggregation of Europe", weakening Europe by Balkanisation in Eastern Europe and by severing Europe from cheap Russian gas and oil and replacing it with expensive US LNG. In trade, by incentivising move of European companies to the US and by buying up European companies with capacity to innovate. Also by sanctioning China and Iran, very important trade partners for Europe. In the military sphere the US aims to prevent emergence of integrated EU forces: this accounts in part for the rushed expansion of NATO. The EU population remains larger than the US so the US has thrown open the back door to large scale immigration. Brexit was covertly backed by the US which has resulted in furthrr European fragmentation. Russia is turning east and south, but is faced by distance and transportation struggles and by low levels of population. At a political and academic level, European leadership is currently in the pocket of the US. There is unfortunately naivety in my opinion as to the meanning of " good relations with the US ". The US worked for years to gain control of Ukraine and weaponise it against Russia. And etc. - work it out for yourselves.

Addendum - the Ukraine War was a low cost proxy war for the US. It sent past sell by date arms and pushed Europe to use its stocks.. It has sent vast amounts of arms to Israel, which seems to have been suspiciously well stocked prior to the Oct 7 "surprise" attack on Israel. India would do well to take a more independent view rather than merely replace UK influence with US.
