Hey Nutshell! I had never heard of enclaves prior to this video but as always you guys did a stupendous job at explaining such complex topics in an easily understandable fashion. 😍😍😘 4:32 Just one question though, why did they choose to keep that one enclave?!!

This one enclave is a piece of Bangladeshi land in India. It's called Dahagram Angarpota. Even before 2015, there was a treaty signed b/w India and Bangladesh in 1974. The treaty said that India would get to keep one of its enclave in Bangladesh called Berubari. And it also said that Bangladesh would get to keep Dahagram Angarpota. The other thing that was considered was that it was extremely close to Bangladesh. Just 200 meters away. So a corridor was made, called the Tin Bigha corridor, to connect it to Bangladeshi mainland. Keeping both these things in mind, this enclave was not exchanged in 2015. It continues to be the only India Bangladesh enclave till today!

After the resolution of 2015, only one bangladeshi enclave was left, Dahagram Angarpota. The interesting thing is that in 2011 a strip of land (Tin bigha corridor) was also given on lease to Bangladesh by India to access the enclave and currently the corridor is back with India.

Please give reference to printed material to get more details on the subject. For instance further to this video I need to read the process to understand if credit could be given to vision of Mr Modi n PM Ms Haseena of Bangladesh n their team in two countries as this was a long pending issue which was not getting resolved for so many years. What were roadblocks n how were they addressed

An absolutely riveting presentation! Well done! I only wish you had included two more things in this presentation: one, what happened to the last remaining Indian enclave in Bangladesh; two, you could have emphasized the totally peaceful transition of the enclave issue - as against the horribly bloody way the brits did the partition.

For your information it was finalised in last years of UPA, Do you think such massive, an agreement was signed by manmohan singh ji in 2011 itself, basis this agreement, talks continued for 4 years and it was formally signed in 2015, give credit where its due.

First agreement was signed in 1974 between Indira Gandhi and mujeeburahman ..in 2011.manmohan singh just added a protocol in it .....what was he doing since 2004 ..... credit goes to the people who actually give results....modi govt completed it smoothly so y the hell i give credit to MM who was not able to finalize it in 10 yrs .

A great video guys! Just a couple of language improvements I would suggest to make your content top notch: 0:08 “This is how (xyz) looked like” is incorrect. You can say “what (xyz) looked like” or “how (xyz) looked”. It’s an increasingly common mistake we find. But don’t forget “how” means “like what” so you can’t have “how…like”! 3:17 We hear the word “Britishers” a lot in the Indian sub-convenient but there is indeed no such word. The correct form would be “It was the British who…” Interestingly the word “Briton”, i.e. a person of British nationality, gets lost in majority non-English speaking countries. Unique to the UK, we find two words to describe the country of origin or nationality: 1. British: eg the British Government, the British (people) or British cars 2. Briton: eg “there were 4 Britons on the flight” or “the delegation consisted of 3 Indians and 2 Britons” Finally, I’d love to hear what happened to the one enclave that wasn’t exchanged in the 2015 agreement.

Hindi is not the national language of India. You are saying as if Hindi is the only language in India. It is one of the languages spoken in India. English is the language which is common for everyone, be it north, south or any other part of the country.

Information is incomplete without telling the total area of all enclaves, population and religious demographics... How much area India got n how many people they end up taking ??? Among people taken by India how many were non Hindus ??? Any Hindus were left on the mercy of Bangladesh in Bangladesh ???
