Some of the comments prove we Indians can't appreciate history and heritage. This abusive language is a recent phenomenon. Loved the steam, smoke, whistle, and chugging! Thanks for posting
Thank you for sharing. Eventhough the footage is recent this is still recorded history. Love those wee hard working engines built so many years ago, they remind me of the Fell engines of New Zealand's Rimutaka railway. Good work Peter 😊
The wealthy European and American tourists sitting comfortably on the train looking out at the poor peasants is like riding a miniature train at the zoo looking at the animals on display.
Real nice pictures, pity the shaky video parts haven't been cut out, and the sound on/sound off all the time is somewhat irritating. The video could do with some editing. Would just make it better.
It is not beautiful. Rather a joke in the name of heritage. New swanky modern railways should be built that should make Darjeling more accessible by train with less pollution. This train should be placed in a museum.
Yes, but to WHAT? Diesel fumes are invisible but more damaging. Electrification using hydroelectricity is very expensive to build and maintain. Scrapping it and using cars wastes a lot more energy and is less safe. So what options actually are GOOD?
-_- They're history, and heritage railways are one of the most profitable sites in the world! And besides, they emit less than a thousand cars! So support scrapping modern cars instead of historical vehicles!!
