In this edition of Access Asia we're dissecting the results of the world's largest election. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has won a historic third term in office. However, things will be markedly different this time around as he finds himself with his wings clipped. Modi has been forced into a coalition after his BJP party failed to win an absolute majority for the first time in a decade. FRANCE 24's Delano D'Souza is joined by social activist and lawyer Trisha Shetty and Ashutosh Varshney, professor and director of the Saxena Center for Contemporary South Asia at Brown University.

To understand india politics you should be born and raised in india. Unless you won't understand india poltics😅. Problem with indian voters they won't vote for development. They vote for caste and religion . How much development you do To win in election's poltician should do caste or religion based politics. Modi prioritize UP and Gujarat any development projects. In Up they built expressways and other infrastructure projects. They targeted v 1triillion $ economy UP alone and they working very well also.they also asia biggest airport too. They also built ram mandir. They extremely confident winning there. But Opposition played very strong cast based poltics that worked very well for this election especially in rural areas. Youth educated people still in side of BJP. I don't think this alliance win state election's. The same alliance paties made gangsters as MLA and MP.
