India is set to begin the world's largest general elections on Friday, held in terrain sweeping from the icy Himalayas to humid jungles, with nearly a billion people eligible to choose 543 members of the lower house of parliament. Opinion polls suggest an easy victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party when the results are announced on June 4. FRANCE 24's Delano D'Souza explains.

Very biased reporting. Not at all correct Infrastructure development creates jobs and benefits the manufacturing sector which in turn will create jobs. Don't tell this also as negative point. Situation is not 100 percent rosy but it is still so much better that what we had experienced till now. Recent quarter GDP growth is more than what you have showed. Atleast hide the bias.

India is very very different from all other countries in the world. There are 28 states in India with different languages and cultures so there is no centralized media.
