India stayed equal with Argentina till the end of the first-half in the women's hockey semi-final before the top seeded Argentina broke through in the third to hand India a 2-1 defeat. India will play the bronze medal match against Great Britain.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games are taking place in Japan, from July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021.

@@kumarupendra Yes I do, I am not anti national, it's not about the defeat it's about the 'defeated attitude they displayed in last 3 quarters. Argentina played average hockey, other wise the defeat margin would have been bigger. These players can't throw away Cruisual knock down matches like this, it's a crime.

Team, at any moment I have never felt that you have not played best. Superb play. The only thing that 1 percent of luck was on Argentina side today. If you take a look at second goal by Argentina it was only luck and our two straight flicks were gone where Argentina goalkeeper was able to save it. Don't worry for Bronz match everything will be on your side. In entire match your fitness, confidence play all was fantastic. What you have achieved in this Olympic is inspiring to many. Hats off to you team.

I hate that people only come to support the Indian hockey teams and the other individual athletes in the year of olympics. The 4 years in between olympics everyone as usual is obsessed about cricket. Our women made it close to medal but still we need to work more hard also respect for the captain of Argentina who was in her mid 30s and had incredible speed stamina at this Argentina GBR Netherlands are very strong team even after losing women's team rank from world no 9 went to rank no 6 and defeated world no 2 Australia you will rock in 2024

I saw this match, I don't want to discourage our girls and play, but our girls are not upto the mark they have to improve a lot. They don't deserve final berth. They are not able to get penalty corners and moreover many times they are running for a ball behind the Argentina girls instead of trying to get control of ball, when they get a ball they loosely playing and gives control to Argentina girls.

There's somewhere a video about the argentinian hockey team celebrating and dancing afterwards in their dressing room. They encircle a japanese official while dancing, which looked kinda funny^^
