While there are players who are suited, strereotyped or themselves prefer to player a specific format like Pujara, SKY, Sarfaraz Khan, Pandya, Chahal, it's just that india has such an inflated talent pool, that India can afford to have a top quality alternate team represent them to prioritize certain events with their main roster. Allows more players to get opportunity, exposure and international experience.
