In the back of your mind you always know that someone somewhere has it worse than you. These untold stories are so heartbreaking and eye opening to the struggles of so many 😓

It's interesting how the voices of the people suffering are so soft and gentle while the voices of the people causing the problems are bursting with aggression and hate.

seeing the eight year old boy pushing those coal blocks one by one was heart wrenching. No child should have to do that.

While on Instagram people are flaunting how rich they are. Disgusting really.

The 8 year old boy rolling 2 stones of coal for his home with his plate and theres no houses near by 😟😟 itll take him all day to get where he needs to go. So sad

I'm asthmatic. If I was to visit this place I would be dead in less than an hour. But these poor souls live and breath that toxic air day in day out. I can't imagine their suffering. Seeing all those ppl, children and animals in that toxic environment just made me so sad. 😪😪😪

It’s amazing to me how a lot of money goes around to maintain the life style of rich people, such as artists and politicians, and yet they don’t spend one cent to help people in need. This world supports everything that’s wrong! 😔

This is where I ask myself one question. If all of these celebrities waste so much money on unnecessary expenses and they flaunt it and brag about it all over the media and we to could help but we don't have the means yet we desire to. Then why dont this rich people pick an area and invest heavily on them? Instead of so much materialistic things for themselves that they really don't need?

this is just like centralia in pennsylvania, a coal mine caught fire and it spread underground all the way underneath the town. they had to completely evacuate and its still too dangerous to live there. The fire is still burning like 40 years later

When I was about 20 (say 6 years ago or so) with no prior knowledge of these events, I wrote a book: Caste Law: Shattering Cries. The first of a series, it takes place in multiple settings, one of which is a province in Southern India. In this book, there is now a global system of caste, not too much different from India's current caste system (one I refuse to give the term "modern"). One of the most common jobs among lowest caste members is illegal mining. With that said, I did not come here to advertise some book I wrote in my younger, dumber years. I will say that watching this is a sobering reminder of the gratitude I should have. Here I am, complaining that I cannot be rid of my belly, while children break their backs in desperation to fill theirs. It's a tragedy that should portend global outrage. It may not mean much, but I'm currently in the process of retconning my book so that the storyline is more consistent and easier to follow. If it ever becomes popular, I will dedicate at least half of the profits to ending crap like this.

It’s crazy how the people in the front line doing the hardest and most dangerous work are the ones getting so much less than the people comfortable at the top. How weird the hierarchy of this world is.

The boy rolling two large stones is doing it really ineffectively. It would be faster if he just focused on bringing one item at a time. Not to mention, make a cart of some sort. It could be a real makeshift one, anything with wheels, he can even make the wheels out of tree stumps or used plastic for god's sake.

And my kids are complaining because they don't have their "own" bedroom. We live in a nice middle-class neighborhood in a 4 bedroom, 2 bath home that was built in 2012, granite countertops, hardwood floors, modern appliances, so much food that it often gets tossed away because it goes bad before we can eat it all, nice furniture, 6 computers in our home with high speed internet, 4 big flatscreen televisions with more channels than we will ever use, way too many freaking clothes and countless pairs of shoes for every member of our house, two cars, great schools, good/plentiful jobs all around us, excellent dental/medical care, a gorgeous manicured park right next door to us, clean/maintained modern roads, CLEAN, COOL, FRESH AIR TO BREATHE...and what do we do?? We complain just as much as our kids about stupid crap like being "too broke" after payday to go do something "fun" on the weekend! Unbelievable! How ungrateful can we be? This really puts it into perspective and makes me feel like total crap. I wish we could do something to help these people. It is so sad and so unfair!! We are so utterly spoiled and don't even realize it!!!!
