India finally has its first AI Unicorn. Started only nine months back, it is also the fastest unicorn in the country.
Krutrim was started by Bhavish Aggarwal, who already runs two unicorns, and this is his third unicorn.
With Krutrim, Bhavish is trying to build India’s own AI stack. Beginning with AI chips for computation, followed by cloud infra for support and finally user-facing Language models and apps.
Now this is really ambitious for a new company but investors seem to have faith in Bhavish. They have already poured 50 Million dollars into this company, valuing it at $1 Billion.
And the thing that makes Krutrim unique is its focus on India, its chatbot can understand 22 Indian languages and can speak and write in 10 of them.
Bhavish gave a live demo during the launch to test its output in Tamil, Bengali and Hindi, which was spot on.
