The thing is , contrary to popular belief , forests around the world do not sit on fertile land .Thus turning barren land to forest is very much possible .

Germany has so much to learn about water harvesting! We are getting from year to year More flod rains and less „normal“ raining than it used to be here

True. We were very spoiled with what rain used to be in Germany, but now, large regions are stuck in a cycle of drought and torrential rainfalls. Much needs to change and I really hope it will get started soon

The entirety of the 5acres around my house is hard shell and red rock like this and just to make it soft enough to move you have to chisel plow and even then it works minimally, key is breaking it up and water with roots

I just purchased 5 acres in the middle of the Arizona desert in Marana ( just outside tucson) and I want to use these techniques to help my land grow... where, in your opinion, should I begin my journey. I am in the very first stages of water harvesting... next , compost!

Hi. There are multiple methods of water conservation. In order to choose which one will suit you, you need to understand your land. Check how slope your land is and in which direction. Try to create a rain water harvesting pit or a small pond in the end of the area and multiple gateways leading to it. I would need to know more about the rainfall pattern, amount and ground water level to suggest ideas.
