After months of campaigning and voting, India’s marathon election has thrown big surprises for the incumbent #NarendraModi and the opposition #INDIA bloc. While the governing National Democratic Alliance secured enough seats to form a government, the BJP has lost its parliamentary majority for the first time in a decade. Thank goodness! I was worried about the decline of democracy under Modi and the BJP, the loss of press freedoms (only allowing pro-govt journos to get journo passes; not allowing in Al Jazeera and many other news org. to report, harassing the press using the police and other legal means), and it seemed like Indians were supportive of this destruction of their democracy, or just didn't care, as they'd become more prosperous under Modi's rule and, as a new democracy, seemed inclined to support the govt, no matter who was in power (!). Glad to see a return to some checks and balances, that BJP didn't even get an outright majority is a win for democracy. This is good news for the free people of the world. Can't wait to see a time where Modi/BJP is out for good and full Indian democracy is restored.

I dont think you understand, If modi does not convince all of his allies to stay true to the NDA alliance, and even if 2-3 of them decide to ally with INDIA instead, modi's NDA alliance cannot form government, instead the INDIA alliance will form government lead by rahul gandhi. It is much closer than people are making it out to be. Keep in mind that there are quite a few swing parties in the NDA alliance. It all depends on the talks going on in Delhi rn and the final results

@@hataanghua6072 NDA (Modi Alliance) has 293 seats, INDIA (Rahul Alliance) has 234 seats and 2-3 parties in the NDA Alliance (that have switched sides lots of times previously) have over 40 seats, if INDIA can convince them to switch sides, they form government. NDA has an alliance where 1 party has a lot of seats and a lot of smaller parties, while INDIA has lots of large parties and not many smaller parties. So yea, the victory is not 100% a good one for modi

Poor and unemployed people of India have saved the country from becoming a dictatorship. Now Modi cannot change the Constitution of India without 2/3 majority in the parliament. Please understand Congress had with its overseas partners manipulated narratives and severely influenced the process in its favour.
