I normally remove the caliper then use the old pad to help compress the pistons then reinstall the caliper and pads along with the vibration spring. Good job doing your own work on beautiful Penny.
It does. Just did mine. If you just take the two bottom fender bolts off and looses the upper fender bolt you can then rotate the fender slightly which allows you to unfasten and pull the calipers off the rotors to your rotors with that screwdriver and once off it is a lot easier to Push the caliper pistons in. Way better then risking damage to those expensive front rotors if you ask me...
I believe this was the first time this guy changed the brakes. Should have been about a 5 minute job not twenty something. Seems like he spent minutes on minutes pushing the caliper back into place. Wonder if he scratched the caliper and or disks with the screwdriver. Can't the caliper be taken off the frame to make the job easier?
