Electronic display boards are a must. Recently I travelled on Siddhaganga express with my family and one senior citizen was insisting that we were getting into the wrong train 😊!!

Rake sharing is good idea by railways. But a rake sharing between two trains say Chennai CST SF sharing rake with Salem to Egmore SF is okay and efficient so much so that it relieves lot of maintenance related work at Egmore. But a rake sharing arrangement between 5 trains , example here is MV Salem exp with TPJ Palakkad , MV Villupuram exp etc is really affecting maintenance activities and rakes have rest of just 3 hours . Same goes true with Cholan Pandian and Rockfort sharing rakes ie one day roadie and 2 night buddies . Here Cholan rake reaching at TPJ 3 PM , runs RF by 9.50 PM and at Egmore 6 PM and run as either RF or Pandian. Lot of Jugaads and Jugalbandies are being played best by SR in entire Indian railways

It is useless to write names of 5 trains in the display board of the train and let the passenger figure which train it is. Few decades back, big boards would display train number and name at least in the first and last coaches, with even head boards in front of the locos of prestigious trains. To avoid work and staff for changing display boards on coaches, all names of rake sharing trains are written, sonetimes in font size 8 or below, defeating the purpose. Atleast in 8 places spaced over 22-24 coach rake, the operated service of the train name with number, should be prominently displayed, including in first and last coach. Bright and clear LED display boards (not cheap ones that fail in the first rain or first year) should be used and atleast for that let the railway officials waive bribes and insist on quality from suppliers. Let the guessing game of operated service train name stop.

Yes, rake sharing is so exciting like a video game. So many combinations, efficiency, revenue, maintenance and least idling. But if I can consider one example where rake sharing is a disadvantage is for example: 22675 Cholan express (MS to TPJ via CDM) that is a day train catering to huge demand for morning service on the main line from VM to TPJ (via CDM). Railways rake share 22675 with 12637(Pandian), 12653(Rockfort) which are sleeper trains. So, they run on sleeper coaches which creates a lot of inconvenience for Cholan express 22675 passengers due to less seating facilities. Just have a look at the UR coaches (hardly 3) plus 3 seater class coaches derived from sleeper coaches equals to just a menial 6 coaches. If railways operated dedicated seating and/or rake shared the sitting coaches with other trains, this would help 1000s of passengers.

South central railway spoiled another sets of trains back to back as usual.After the lhb-fication of Falaknuma, (narayandari,simhapuri,devagiri,ajanta),etc all got different RSA pattern.The coaching depot also changed for these trains.

In another video you should explain why platform 1-4 of KSR Blr station cannot be connected to the Mysore line. From a cursory Google maps satellite view it doesn't seem to be impossible.

As a paying passenger, i am interested in only in the originating station and destination. By putting such a board it is very confusing as to where the train is destined for. To make their work easy, they have made this arrangement. This seves no purpose, neither is it visible nor is their any clarity. And less said about the hygiene it is better.full of cockroaches, dirty and the toilets stinks. But who will bell the cat?
