They broadcast the Last night of the proms all over the UK in outdoor locations, the largest one is in Hyde Park London .

Can you just attend Hyde Park or are tickets required? Is it on this year? I can find very little info.

@@fourlamb1 Tickets are required for Proms In The Park on Sunday 27th August but nothing yet about The Last Night, which,this year, is 9th September 2023.

It happens every year, he crowds are outside in Hyde Park this bit was the last night at the PROMS.

5:18 That's in Hyde Park just outside Albert Hall. They usually have gatherings in front of big screens in several cities and parts of the United Kingdom so everyone can sing along at the same time.

If you liked this you should listen to 'Jerusalem' and 'Rule Britannia' at the Proms. Also 'I Vow to Thee My Country' at the 2022 Remembrance Service sung by 'Luke Evans' (the actor).

I love watching the Proms BBC videos. What wonderful energy, with the best possible video experience because of the BBC's expertise. There was another once in a lifetime Proms performance, actually videoed from the crowd. I guess the BBC did not produce it out of respect, assuming they were there that evening. It was the day Queen Elizabeth passed away. The Proms were in progress, and the Philadelphia Orchestra was slated to perform. They did, but instead of the scheduled evening, here is what they did. @@royalreactionary There are two one minute pauses, at the beginning, and at the very end of the music. They seem long, but the music/responses at the end are part of the sheer immensity of that point in our collective history. Wah!

They are singing that first bit because it was his last time before retiring. And yes it did start inside, but cut outside to Hyde Park.

England the only country that is not allowed to celebrate it;s National day invites all Nations to help it celebrate The Last Night of the Proms every year. Yes the second half of the last night is very patriotic,

'Land of Hope and Glory' isn't our National Anthem but many, many people think it should be. It vies with 'Jerusalem' as to which one many people would prefer, as an alternative to 'God Save The King'. I lean toward the latter but not by much.

It's flag waving nationalism... but, it's an all inclusive nationalism. There are flags flying from many nations, some of whom don't really care for the British (and vice versa). But, it's the music that unites, it symbolises that the people of all countries believe in hope and glory for their nation.
