​@@Sophiesofiesophi It's not their natural color in the wild I believe is what she meant, and in that case she'd be right as far as I know. I think there's some rare cases of wild ringnecks appearing in different colors besides green(like Gray) however the overwhelming majority of wild ringnecks are bright green in color, just like Clover here. The different colors like blue, purple, violet, yellow, etc... are the result of certain breeding practices that produce different color mutations. How or why it happens I don't know the specifics of however.

Hi! 🙂 Question: im considering getting a bird. I’ve just started my research on them so I don’t know much. I haven’t even picked a specific species yet but I really like the Indian Ringneck thus far. I was going to get a bunny, but after extensive research, I decided a bunny just wasn’t right for me nor my family. Anywho- different people have brought up several times that these birds NEED socialization. Socializing with what? Other birds? Humans? I’m a stay at home mom to a special needs child, so I have all the time in the world for our future pet. Any advice, recommendations or thoughts, are greatly appreciated. 🙃😊

dlc x yes I am always talking to him constant, what worked was I would choose a word or phrase and repeat that more often than anything else for a week of two than move onto something else. Keep in mind your bird might not be talking around you. It took a while for my boy to talk around me but when I’m walking to my room I could hear him talking but when I walked into my room he would instantly stop

I’m in India I want one also was told if you want them to talk give green Chile’s they really seem to like them as treats. Also I noticed here they repeat the names of food in America they say what are you doing a lot.

Those are mutations as a result of selective breeding of captive birds.. green is the natural/wild color

They are artificial bred mutations very rarely exist in natural habitat

@@Aiko_63194 You should look around, always. Dude, like 90% of the times I let a bird fly away, they came back. Can't forget a time I let out like 6 or 7 because I forgot the cage open, by the end of the next day I had like 5 back on it lmao. Happened with zebra finches, roseicolli, doves, you name it. Sometimes they stick around, sometimes they are in the area, where other (usually large number of) birds are, sometimes they just vanish. It's kind of like dogs and cats, if they're well treated, they usually come back, most of the times they don't something or someone prevented them from it.
