✓ Have you ever wanted to know how those delicious Indian Peanuts get made? This epic video documentary is a very privileged and special look at the Indian Salty Peanut (Khari Sing) making process and hopefully conveys some of the very hard work and effort required in producing these "World Famous" peanuts (Sing Dana).
This video shows the complete journey of the humble groundnut peanut; starting in it's shell being processed in the factory using age old methods and then all the way from India to Bradford in the UK.......then on to London and finally into our fridge ready to eat anytime.
This extraordinary video is video that we've been wanting to make for many years and were kindly given the opportunity to watch the process by Maharana factory, the factory felt like stepping back in time to a medieval age many centuries ago.
Also Jeevanbhai very kindly says a few words about what makes his peanuts so special; whereby ancient methods are used to produce the tastiest of dry roasted peanuts, he explains that it is down to the Mati (Clay / Sand) that is used in the manufacturing process, he explains that the Matti (Black Sand / Clay) used contains 5 Main Ayurvedic elements (Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth) that the human body consists of, the manufacturing process involves a very high heat of 200 degrees and in that process the natural elements are transferred into the peanuts.
The peanuts journey starts by being completely hand processed starting with the ladies breaking the groundnuts out of their shells, then they are hand sorted into large and small sizes and also "quality control" checked.
In the actual factory, you will also see that the Mati gets heated to such high heats, so much so that the sand bubbles and looks deceptively like boiling water bubbling, it's worth saying that these guys are some of the hardest working people that I've ever seen in my life, working in extremely high temperatures and dusty atmosphere.
We think that this factory process is the first time ever that it is being seen on RU-vid.
A trip to India would not be complete if whilst in India we didn't get to eat some of India's world famous Dry Roasted Peanuts (Dana) and Dry Roast Chickpeas (Chana)
The "World Famous" and delicious Karasing Dana (Salty Peanuts) and Dry Roasted Chana (Chickpeas) are ubiquitous in the Indian Sub-Continent and can be found being sold on every street corner by street food vendors, hawkers and shops alike.......you could say that they are a little taste of India in every bite.
The peanuts are much more healthier than fried peanuts because they are dry roasted, the peanuts have just the right level of saltiness that a peanut should have, are moreish and very, very yummy, be warned that they can be seriously addictive.
You will not get more freshly made than this!!!
Amongst some of the other treats and goodies that these guys sell are:
* Chana (dry roasted chickpeas.
* Kamchi (Baby) Peanuts
* Garlic Peanuts
* Schewan Peanuts
* Black Pepper & Salt Peanuts
* Chaat Masala Peanuts
* Lemon & Black Pepper Peanuts
A very special thank you to Jeevanbhai, Bhavesh and all the shop team for allowing to film in their shop.
The shop is located at Maharana Teen Rasta, Nagin Desai Street, Midway of Alankar Station in Bardoli Town Centre, off Station Road, (District Surat) Gujarat, India, 394602.
If you have any questions you can phone them on: 02622 220821 or 02622 220351
The UK shop in which you see the peanuts on sale here in the UK is: "A & Z Dadipatel Food Store" in Batley, Yorkshire, here's a link to a video we recorded in the shop in 2013: • Looking around inside ...
Also here's the link to a previous video we recorded when we bought the peanuts from the Maharana shop: • Buying lots of Indian ...
(This very special video is from our archives and the main video footage was recorded on two separate days on Thursday 4th & Sunday 7th January 2018)

Thank you very much for your kind comment, these guys were some of the hardest workers that I've ever seen in my life. Do phone ahead of your visit just to confirm that they are in stock, also please do say hi from me to the shop owner Mr Dadi Bhai Patel. The Batley shop stock various types of Peanuts but the ones to look out for are the: * Salted Dry Roasted Peanuts; the ones you see at 16:45 in the video. * or the "Dana Chana" (Dry roasted Peanuts & Chickpeas). * the Schezwan Sing Bhujia at 16:33 are also good to try, but can be quite spicy / hot. The two other things to check is that the packets are completely vacuum packed and "tight" + check the best before date otherwise the taste will not be the same. Once you open them you can store them in the fridge in an airtight container. (Do not get the coconut peanuts or the boiled salted peanuts as they are more of an acquired taste). My very best wishes to you.

The name Khari Singh was the name given to this snack food. It got its name Khari Singh after my trial in Mumbai during the time of the Ayodhya riots. However the Mumbai riots we here not regarding that, I was made to participate in a street war with people in the Khar district after my father died as he was the Planets Emperor at the age of thirteen I was made to fight in the war. I had allot of success and made it out alive. It lasted for around two weeks. The name before 1992 for this food was Monpalli. This is classical Hindu Khumbar naming 🦚🤴🏽🕉🔺➕
