What I enjoy most about your channel is that every recipe ticks the box of "appetizing", from light & airy to good solid fare, all delivered honestly and with a fair pinch of self-deprecation. That's why it's never stale or more of the same.
Nice to see Mrs Keef again. 😊 Another tasty dish from Mr Keef, which I know I'll never attempt but I enjoy watching it made and the subsequent sampling. Interesting social history too. Live and learn, ta for that. 😉👍🍁
Wow! I intend to make it just as you did once the weather warms up, it's freezing today and snowing in the mountains. Almost envious of your 30C - 40C days! In fact it's so cold we had a new slow burn fireplace installed last Tuesday, and its too cold to appreciate Indian food. Like the sous-vide method of hard boiled eggs, especially with the test egg going into lunch - I like an egg sandwich with a bit of Madras curry powder. Fabulous to see Er Indoors back, her opinions are greatly appreciated.
I can remember making curried eggs in school, but don’t think Mrs Jones the domestic science teacher would have let us faff about with that recipe but oh boy it does look delish👍🏼❤️🇬🇧
As a veteran of countless Bradford curry shops I was surprised to only encounter these kofta in Coventry. Nowhere else, just one place in Earlsdon. I felt bereft and denied.
You also couldn’t use beef in India. I doubt that it is even available. The major takeaway from this video is the spices. It’s good to see Mrs. Keef Cooks again.
Looks very tasty indeed! I love the name too, so poetic. I always enjoy the background information you give about what you're making. What a treat to have Mrs KC with us for the taste test.
Enjoy your channel so much....hope you can do a bit more South African recipes....maybe a bunny chow or roosterkoek? Keep doing what you're doing, love it!
Bunny chow here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kqxnLqVtJd0.html Bobotie here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IB9VHBjDa0U.html Never heard of roosterkoek but it looks interesting.
Working with both people from Pakistani and Indian backgrounds the only meats they both eat is Chicken and Lamb. Pre partion beef would have been a no-no for the hindu's and prork a no-no for the muslims. So lamb makes sense! Nice to see Mrs Keef! Question i get making the perfect egg with the water bath but doesnt the frying then baking muck up the "state" of the yolk? I've not had the greatest sucess with cooking layered things with raw and cooked components. I do wonder if the secret to the perfect boiled egg and scrambled egg is a water bath!
As I write this I am in the middle of this recipe. But I've had to make a couple of changes....Home made Gram flour (Mercadona had none in stock) and homemade Garlic/Ginger paste (Mercadona don't "do" them.) Also I'm adjusting for 2 eggs and 250gms minced beef (only 1 mouth to feed...mine! ) Fingers crossed.
@@Keefcooks Only done as a last resort! I thought the beans were going to smash through the coffee grinder's dome. Soon as I see Mercadona has some I'll be buying for my larder. But it got the recipe done. My sauce was quite "picante" though. Next time I'll tone down the spicing a little.
seems a bit of a faff for jammy yolked eggs, easier way it to get the water boiling add the egg, boil for exactly 8 min then put them straight into ice water, jammy yolked eggs every time
LOL I know everything is perfect in Big Daddiworld but here on Planet Keef I can never get boiled eggs the way I want 'em, I just can't. So I'll happily wait an hour for a water bath and it's no faff at all.
