Great video, I follow you from your dodge megasquirt time, just tuned first rotrex supercharged triumph thruxton in america two weeks ago using power commander v, way cooler to tune bikes than cars man, thanks for the video.
I plan on going with the VH full grenades (not slip on), the SS intake and then the Power Commander like you just did. I am not going to do a dyno tune though. What kind of increase can I expect in HP and torque? I know those numbers were in this video somehwere but I couldn't quite figure it out. Was it 95 HP that you got it to before the dyno tune?
I just ordered my PVCX, how has the tune treated you? It is incredible how much performance is gained by just an intake and exhaust. I just ordered my bike. Also if I can ask. Why did you decide to go further and get a custom dyno rather than sticking with the canned files? Will be doing the V&H grenades full system with the S&S intake.
I’ve only used it the two times, once to flash the DynoJet tune on, and once at the dyno. The rest of the time I store it in my closet at home. It’s worked great for what I needed. It sure takes forever to flash, but that’s likely the way the bike’s ECM works. I went for the dyno because I wanted to see if I could crack 100whp. Some Scouts have. I made 99whp, so I’m satisfied enough. The V&H grenades are certainly loud. If you’re sticking with the stock dual exhaust, check out Dean Speed Customs. He makes some gorgeous slip lbs, both in looks and sound. I’m actually working with him to make one for my 2-1 setup because the slipon it came with is too loud.
If the tune you need says "not on device'' instead of "none" beside where you download them.. does that mean they don't have that tune configuration on the site or what?? I have a s&s intake an trask slip-ons.
any issues after having lowered the idle by 100? just curious! i am running an off the shelf dynojet map currently, and i am totally satisfied. but having a bit more of a lope at idle would be sweet! thanks for your input and great video!
Nope. It claimed to come with tank mounts that would raise the tank “for a ram air effect”. The mounts did not raise the tank so I stuck with my stock mounts.
For the ECU flash, is it recommended to leave a battery tender on it? I'm rather new to the bike game and I understand bikes have really small and easily depleatable batteries.
IA serious question for me but maybe stupid to you but if you went to a dyno to final tune your bike why not get them to do the tune in the first place and save the cost of that dynojet And didn't the dyno jet tune it good enough for you ?They are almost five hundred dollars here in Canada and was thinking about getting one for my scout sixty
The dyno operator still needs the PowerVision CX to be able to flash the ECM. Short of the dealer, it’s the only device on the market that can reflash the Indian Scout ECM. The base tune I got off DynoJet’s website wasn’t bad. I would have been fine using it long term. But I’m happy to have precisely dialed it in for my exact bike and mods.
I recently purchased my indian scout and i wanted to put on v&h slip ons and the trek air filter. I wanted to do a remap of the ecu as well but couldnt find the maps for my particular mods. Should i purchase the power commander or simply go to a dynojet tuner and get it flashed from him? I saw even you got yours fine tuned by a pro so whats the point of buying a power commander if eventually u go to a tuner? Im new to the motorcycle world so id appreciate your help! @unaclocker
Talk to your exhaust vendor before ordering and make sure they include an O2 bung. If you’ve already got the exhaust, any muffler shop can weld on a bung for you, but you’ll have to pull the exhaust system off for them to weld it in the right place.
www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/indian/scout/2015/unaclocker/645057 I’m very happy with this bike’s gas mileage. If you compare to the other 2015 Scouts tracked on that page, I’m slightly above average, but not the best.

Super informative. But may I ask. Most people just flash a map it and that's it. But dynoguy changed tablenumbers directly on the ECU? Didn't know that was possible if so. I'm fairly new .. :)
There’s an app you can install on Windows that loads the map and allows you to see and edit the fuel, spark, and dozens of other tables in the map. Then you flash that modified map onto the ECM. This is how tuning works. The “flashing a map” you refer to is his taking someone else’s tune and using it on your bike. Not dialing it in for your specific bike like we did here.
Thanks, I purchased it on laborsday and getting the hang of it =) I might get the remote tuning service since I live.. well.. pretty far away! Keep posting high quality vids (y)
