@ST1300ful 2 года назад
@@ashengineer I used a 1-1/4" hole saw with and extension right through the end of the exhaust. The hole saw will fit right in. Push it in until you hit something, that will be the baffle plug. Drill it out and the use a magnet to get the plug out if it does not come out in the hole saw. Very simple to do. There will still be another baffle at the front of the exhaust so do not be afraid of making it too load.

I sent my forks and shocks to RaceTech and had them work their magic. I am on my 5th street bike suspension build with them. They do Indians, Victories, Harley's, Honda, Yamaha, you name it, whether it be a crotch rocket, cruiser, bagger, they do it all. They have been a sponsor of mine for 24 years now, and they have done my suspension on every race bike that I have owned when I use to race the East Coast MX Series, and even now with my fmx freestyle motocross suspension setups. I am in the pretty much screwed category when it comes to trying to setup factory suspension with any bike because I am a small guy, 5ft 7 inch 156lbs. Most bikes suspension is setup and adjustable for guys that are 185lbs +. The smaller guys like myself have to have their forks and shocks reworked. That's the difference between RaceTech and off the shelf shocks and forks. RaceTech builds your suspension to fit YOU and your weight. You don't get that with off the shelf suspension. Sure they are adjustable, but they are not custom tailored to your weight and riding habits.

Ive had many bikes where i had to modify the suspension. Front forks usually need new springs (progressive) or just a spacer or add air fork caps and add air pressure. Drain and change the fork oil viscosity. Rear shocks are typically needing to be replaced. Now all that is for traditional bike suspensions. Now today, I shop for a bike that has dynamic suspension systems and i dont need to worry or work on this crappy suspensions on poorly engineered systems.

Quite often, recommended tyre pressures on bikes are way too high and this makes the bikes feel uncomfortable! It's a one size fits all that they tell you to use. You could be a 120 pound woman or a 360 pound guy with passenger and they tell you to use the same pressure. I found out years ago what works best for me, being a 215 pound guy and dropped my pressures slightly before going out on a ride and being aware of the effects on my bike. Keep in mind that a drop of 1 or 2 psi can have a big effect on how it feels, so take your time dropping it a little then testing. You'll feel when you have gone too far and can then revert!

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to that question. I believe it is more about feel and adjust to the feel that works bests for you. I could assume (yeah I know) that if they give you that amount of threads you can use what you need. My only concern would be the handling of the bike vs the comfort of the ride for a cruiser like this.

In all honesty, if you want to spend a lot less money instead of wasting $1,000 for new Fox shocks, I recommend sending your factory shocks to RaceTech and have them do it for less. I would send out your forks as well and get those done. RaceTech is one of the best suspension companies in the world for a reason when it comes to on and off road bikes. They have been a sponsor of mine for 24 years now, and I have stuck with them for so long because they are that frickn good. They have done every race bike that I have owned in the 18 years that I raced the East Coast MX Series, and they do my suspension for my fmx freestyle motocross bikes as well. When it comes to street bikes, they are extremely knowledgeable and have done 5 of my bikes. They work on several different brands including Indian. The difference between RaceTech and buying off the shelf Fox shocks, is RaceTech calibrates your suspension to YOUR specific weight. You can't get that with off the shelf shocks. They take your factory forks and shocks and turn them into the top of the line suspension for far less than you would pay for new suspension. They only charge around $175 for labor plus parts to do your suspension. They did both the forks and shocks on my 2018 Indian Scout Bobber for around $700. If you want your bike to ride like a cadillac, I recommend their work. They have awesome customer service as well.

@Sandman1832
@Sandman1832 3 года назад
@@buzocaperuso The new colors that they are offering are absolutely brilliant. That matte burnt orange and matte red looks absolutely sic. The only thing that has really changed with the original Scout Bobber and the 2021 model, it now has ABS. Other than that, the bikes are the same. The price for the Scout Bobber with ABS is the same price as it was with the 2018 model without it. That is why people love Indian, they are extremely affordable and don't charge out the butt for new features like Hardley does. They did add 2 more bikes to the Scout Bobber lineup, the 60 and the 20. The Scout Bobber 60 has a smaller displacement, 61cc's compared to the 69cc 100hp V-Twin in the original Scout Bobber, and the only difference between the Scout Bobber and Scout Bobber 20 is purely cosmetic changes. Other than that, they share the same frame, same power plant, 69cc 100hp V-Twin. ABS isn't a big deal for me. I have a couple grand invested in upgrades for my 2018, so I will be keeping the bike for the foreseeable future. When you get your knew bike, just a tip, The Dyno Jet and Vance & Hines fuel remap really wakes the bike up. If you get a good quality pare of mufflers and a better air filter, pair that with the remap, and it changes the shift characterization, throttle response, and it opens up the bottom end A LOT. Indians love to be in the upper RPM ranges. That is where they really shine. The way that they come from factory, the bottom range of the RPM's is a bit sluggish until you get into the upper RPM's. The remap pared with the mufflers and air filter changes that and makes it really snappy in the lower RPM range. I went with a Dyno Jet tune and my dad went with Vance & Hines for his Scout Bobber. My dad just got himself a new Triumph a few weeks ago and traded in his older one. He has always been into Indians, Triumphs and Victories. He has owned 2 Harley's and hasn't really been a fan of them. I would love to add a Triumph to my collection. That will probably be my next bike, and then another Indian after that. Personally, I think the Scout Bobber is going to last a very long time like Yamaha's YZ 2 stroke bikes. 9 + years of the same suspension, and their Kayaba SSS is still leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else. As the saying goes, if it isn't broke, then why fix it. All they need to do with the Scout, is keep offering different colors, styles and features, and the bike will sell itself as it does already.

@raybrensike42 8 месяцев назад
@@RemboUSMC Are you running less air pressure in your rear tire than is the ideal recommended by the tire manufacturer, in order to correct a fault in your suspension? If so, you are decreasing the life of the tire, and might even be creating an unsafe condition. If however you are keeping the ideal tire pressure as recommended by the manufacturer, if you are within their specs then I wonder if you were riding overinflated at one time. What I am saying about tire pressure is, is that riding anywhere out of the tire manufacturer's specs will cause it to wear out quicker or cause an unsafe condition. The only condition I can think of as far as a tire pressure that you could run that might not cause the tire to wear out prematurely, might be a slight over inflation. However, I'm not real sure on that. Generally, a tire will last the best when it is the right one for the bike and it's kept within the tire pressure specs of the tire manufacturer. Right now, I'm searching the internet for information on the new Scouts as I am considering buying a new bike. I believe there is a big opportunity for somebody to design and make a 5-gallon tank for the Scout and Scout 60.
