Our Indian trains also used to jump like this 10-15 years back. I'm not sure what changed but I distinctly remember the coaches wildly bouncing and a young me scared to cross from one coach to another.

This train should be promoted as a tourist attraction for those tourists who like to have it original and rough. They are fed of leading a comfortable life and want to experience some old fashioned ways of things. Believe it, the train will mint money.

The best part is they all speak English and make feel so welcoming. Hope someday they will develop. But please don't underestimate that train journey. It was an experience of a kind for you. Even sometimes our rural journeys are a disaster. But seeing the general compartment I feel it was not so crowded comparing to Indian ones

About 45 years ago I remember seeing trains like this in India too. I havent travelled much by trains between 1990 until now but I find that it has improved a bit since then. Now, I want to travel in the latest Vande Bharat, Gatiman Express soon and the bullet trains when it starts.

I think Indian railways should take a leap and develop railway infrastructures in these countries. This will increase the awareness of Indian Railways as well and it will be good for our engineers where they can upskill themselves quickly as they will work right from scratch one more reason is African terrain is complex their we have extreme advantage as well . Africa is massive and promotion of Railway infrastructures would be as massive. We have very good support structure from very research and development companies like Alstom, Siemens mobility etc.
