@Kraken Thunder What you are talking about, it is before 2014, ticket is easily available online and counter as well, This was done in Congress Government and Lalu Prasad Yadav was Rail Minister, (2005)He introduced IRCTC and advance system at counter. I think Bangladesh government should start electrifying their railway system. Back in 1980 and 1990 Indian used to travel by sitting on roof of Passenger train but after rapid electrification of tracks in India no one dare to sit on roof of Train. By 2025 all tracks throughout India will be electrified.

Indians used to travel like this till 2005-2008 Anyways, electrification is not the only solution, Like Indian Railways is still lacking in many other factors, especially mumbai local still suffering with over crowded issues. Both Indian and Bangladeshi railway needs to improve.

As an overseas Chinese, when I first saw a snapshot of this on the internet, I was quite shcoked, blown away and the word that came up to me "dangerous." But it appeared here that the train is not travelling too fast and it looked safe enough and probably an experience to do so, provided no accident happened.

Travelling on roofs of trains were common 50-60 years back in lndia too but it all stopped once electrification started in lndian railways because of overhead electric lines. Now 90% of lndian Railways are electrified, so it is not possible for rooftop travel in lndia.

In India this does not happen sometimes because Indian Railways has been electrified to a great extent and also people have awareness about their safety. As far as Bangladesh is concerned, diesel based locomotives still run there, due to which people get a place to sit on the roof of the train and maybe people there do not even give that much priority to safety.

Have you ever watched the situation of Saudi Arabia during hajj? People walk for miles together because they don't get transport. Its a problem caused by two many people at a single time. It happens during Eid time only. 70-80 lakh people leave Dhaka at once. No govt can manage such a rush.

Negative point of view: As indian railway is lifeline for indian people same as here for bangladesh but the problem is that the huge people that the trains can't cover up ( this problem is only in eid time but usually it is very smooth) Positive point of view: Here you can enjoy like an adventure, crazy and extremely train travel like you travel roof of the train in this video.

This happen not because of over population but because of lack of fundamental investment in railway & other transport medium Bangladesh government has systematic ignored the it's railway which is shown by fact that half of track are still in narrow gauge, doesn't have any electric lines & still use rackes & track of british times. Those whoso are only in bangladesh remember this used to happen in india year ago & still happen in mumbai suburban railway & noli to delhi route ,yes we can say that crowding is not at that much level that people are sitting on the roof of rail But still crowding is their in india

@@sayonara6435 it's not that much different in West Bengal as Bengalis from all over India return to West Bengal during Eid and Durga Puja but the situation doesn't get this bad as the frequency of trains is high and they are also electric so no travelling on top, trains are completely packed from inside though almost everyday in routes like Howrah-Barddhaman.

During Durga puja many people leave Kolkata and go their native home but situation never this bad where people have to sit at roof of Train. Actually in West Bengal most tracks are electrified. In India you won’t see this kind of scene because 85% route is already electrified in next 1-2 years it would be 100%. This is really unsafe, specially if you have to travel for 6-8 hours. Now Indian railways has also started introducing automatic doors like metro, so people won’t be able to travel on doors as well.

People here may misunderstood something that too much population and chaotic situation. Actually during two Eids ships, trains and buses become jam-packed with the passengers. From a tiny city leave 15 million people within three days. So it's not easy to bring 50 more trains for a some days. And for who on the roof are not being punished just for mismanagement not for over population.

Have seen overcrowded train in UP during kumbh mela , people from all over India were traveling to prayagraj, and i was sitting on platform to witness huge crowd of people on outside of engine. And i could see 4-5 people peeking out of washroom window of train as well. The situation was pretty similar the only difference waa people were not there on roof of train lol. Thats too because of electrification. So overall i can say Bangladesh topped it, they can't be matched.

The main difference between India and Bangladesh is the rail communication system. Majority of people in India travel easily and cheaply from one end to another by rail. On the other hand, most people in Bangladesh travel by bus. Bangladesh government does not develop railways in such a way. Because the politicians and parliament members of Bangladesh are involved in the transportation business. Naturally, their eyes are on the bus waiting for the train. That is why the buses of Bangladesh are more modern than those of India. People of Bangladesh prefer to travel by train. But they are forced to travel by bus because the number of trains is very few and tickets are not easily available.

The feelings which u shared might be same when a foreigner visits our India. Electrification of Indian railway has stopped people taking into roof But in bus it is a common scene in many rural pockets and during festives too. During corona time it was more pathetic scene In Rath Yatra (Odisha) when lakh of people come to puri to witness grand festive it is a common sight of people taking roof of bus. I find a lot of similarities of eastern states with Bangladesh same people same cuisine nearly same dialect etc. Does it charge u fair to travel at the roof.Even if one doesn't possess ticket how tt will catch🤣 Love from India (Odisha) to brothers and sisters of Bangladesh.
