This is the closest park to me, and it's a great little park. New owner Gene Staples has put so much work into it the last few years (it had deteriorated badly under the previous owners), and while it's not quite back to its former glory yet, it's come a long way and gets better every year. Staples is considered a hero in the local community for saving the park from extinction.
Couldn't agree more! It's great now. And safe! We've got our season passes and can't wait to go!! 14 years now! It's a great family place. Monticello has many tourist attractions including an old fashioned drive in theater, boat and jet ski rentals, attached campground with a trolly and soooo much more!!!!
I've gone to this one my whole life even when steel hawg was new and the new owners came along haven't been to another amusement park but have always wanted to wanted to go to cedar point
I have been the ride operator the past two years for this ride. I’m out this summer with a newborn. I am very happy to see more people coming from around the world just to ride this ride!! :)
Genuinely you look terrified in that Frankenstein’s Castle attraction when that platform tilted forward. I’d thought you’d dropped your camera 40’ down. Charlotte’s reaction on that first mine coaster was truly epic. Great vlog guys.
IB is an American gem. The location, the ride collection, the overall vibe. I think it’s a park that really comes alive in the evening and weekend. Like you and Charlotte, I visited at opening and it takes a while to get firing on all cylinders!
I work here I am a games employee who also runs rides on occasion. I basically grew up going here. And now to work here feels in a weird way kind of like a dream. As you can tell this is in a rural area in “the middle of nowhere” Indiana and that’s my favorite part. It’s such an underrated amusement park. I truly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t gone
The BEST reaction to the tipping balcony ever recorded. Over many decades I've watched unknowing park patrons step out for a closer look only to have the same reaction. Hilarious! I'v ere-watched it about a dozen times and cannot stop laughing. And I love that you could not let it go, even after exiting the park. Don't worry, tens of thousands of visitors have passed thru the castle without injury, except to their ego when they scream like a little girl. :) Catching up on your 2023 USA tour, doing them in sequence and enjoying immensely!
Also, Charlotte, if it makes you feel any better for not going inside the haunted house, that thing TRAUMATIZED me as a kid and I never went back in since 🤣
I'm not surprised, that drop shocked me, I thought Shawn had tripped or fallen and then that drop...😱 Absolutely crazy, no wonder it has a chicken exit!!!
Your Kings Island video popped up in my recommendations like 4 weeks ago. Thats my home park. But since then your 2 channels have become one of my favorite RU-vid channels period. You both are living the dream!
It's honestly an underrated part of the park experience. Talking to perfect strangers, hyping each other up and hyping up people who are scared, it's all fun.
Indiana Beach has always been my favorite place to go to every Summer! I have been going to Indiana Beach almost every Summer since I was 2 years old. I still like it despite the changes and quirks that have happened through the years! Indiana Beach is an institution to me!
when i was a kid growing up in Chicago, they would ALWAYS be airing Indiana Beach commercials leading up to the summer season. It's awesome that the two of you had a great time!
New subscriber here. Glad you enjoyed my home park. I was a ride operator there for 7 years. I have some stories. Haha. The platform is perfectly safe. Your survival skills kick in and keep you from falling. ;) I’m more impressed that you kept it PG while filming. Keep up the great work you two.
Obviously nobody wants to fall, though Shawn is right the "safty" bar is way too low and it's an accident waiting to happen. You wouldn't get away with building something like that nowadays. Just needs a bit more lighting at least so it's not such a shock. Shawn isn't someone to be easily shaken like that and even watching it in the safety of my bed I was really shocked by how sudden that drop scare happened. Shawn is incredibly lucky he didn't lose his camera at that point.
@@ObsessiveGeek They really aren't that dangerous. They used to have them in my county fair funhouses when I was a kid. They were designed before people were walking around with video cameras all the time though, so I can understand why it was more of a problem for Shawn.
@joelw2012 I've been in a fun house that had one of these "drop floors" as well as a few other times as a jump scare like this. However, all those times, there was never a real fall! That's the issue here, the fact it's set so high above the ground. I know the platform itself is perfectly stable, though someone could be jerked over that low bar far too easily, even without the camera. It just needs a bit more lighting and a higher bar to bring it up to modern standards of safty. I'm well aware at the time these were made that kinda thing was taken for granted and you could argue that it's not occurred yet, though nobody should be genuinely fearful of their life ending, it's just a bit TOO extreme. I'm guessing that's the reason for the chicken exit too.
Superstition Mountain definitely is unique and it would be something I would ride if I had the chance. I’m glad you guys enjoyed it. Can’t wait for the next vlog guys!
Your enthusiasm, enjoyment and excitement is wonderful to see. You certainly lift my spirits and I imagine I'm there with you lol. You are a great videographer and entertainer in my humble opinion. Love you guys. It's wonderful to see you having so much fun ❤
@@ThemeParkWorldwide NO thank you. It's not a dodall doing what you do. It's hard work filming so professionally and all the editing and many more things behind the scenes that must keep you very busy. Well done for all you do to make these amazing videos thank you both from my heart
This was an excellent vlog at Indiana Beach! Before I moved to Orlando a few years ago, I spent most of my years growing up going to Indiana Beach for family summer vacations. Then after college, I spent several years working for the Monticello Fire Department, and all of us that worked on the fire department worked security/EMS at Indiana Beach during the summers. We used to train in search and rescue in Frankenstein's Castle prior to the opening of each summer season. The park has undergone several changes over the years, and prior to 2002, the Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain, used to be a slow moving mine cart ride through that mountain. Also the Den of Lost Thieves used to be a really cool haunted house dark ride that was built from scratch with the help of some of the Monticello Firefighters during the 1970s. Again, excellent vlog, and it brought back some great memories for me. I always like to visit Indiana Beach when I come home to visit.
Hello Nice to see your video of Indiana Beach if you ever want a place to stay your welcome here at my home in Monticello I am not far from Indiana Beach. I never Been to the U.K. but I do have plans to visit Liverpool because of my favorite band The Beatles was from there.
Mate I’ll be real that drop in the haunted house was terrifying, genuinely made me jump. I reckon if they fully cage it up like they do with the walkers at the end of twd the ride it could be a great scare! But with a bar as low as that it does seem a little dangerous even though it is 100% safe. Apart from that it seems like a great attraction but glad you’re all ok. Great vlog as always and can’t wait for the next one ! 👍👍👍,
Yes!!! My childhood home park!! I love and miss Indiana beach dearly. I really hope they’ll consider RMCing Hoosier Hurricane. I think it would be incredible especially the dive under the entrance bridge. I’m so glad you guys enjoyed the park. Especially lost coaster!!! I really really hope the relocated Schwarzkopf does well and gives them incentive to add new rides!
Same here, big shock just watching this. Must have felt 100 times more scary in reality 😱 No wonder it has a chicken exit, I was thinking it wasn't anything that scary up to that point. Fear of death will get you every time! 💀
@@3melbaby is a public entrance, by the campground and boat/jet ski rentals, and you walk across a giant suspension bridge over Lake Shafer. My favorite entrance!
38:56 The shot tower does operate but not often. I saw it test once earlier this year. I think they are doing a refurb on the chair swings, not 100% sure. Also, you got the full Dr. Frankenstein experience. Sometimes they don't do the elevator scene. Indiana Beach is my 2nd home park
Thank you for your bit at the end about Triple Looping. as far as i can find at this moment, this is the newest info about the ride. They bought the train sets from the Mindbender at West Edmonton Malls Galaxy Land months ago. Nobody has posted a vid yet of them in motion, just sitting out on the track still wrapped up.
I had started to watching all the parks you were going to and I must say I am enjoying everyone of them and I love some of Charlottes reactions on some of the rides I hope you have enjoyed your trip in the US I cant wait to watch more of your videos thank you both for sharing take care be safe and enjoy
It's a great place. The lost coaster is a treasure. It's too bad it looks like you didn't do the falling star which I love, but you've probably done lots of rides like that. Luckily I never do haunted houses! I'm so thankful you are getting some of these smaller parks!
In all the years i've watched TPW i have never seen Shaun as rattled (including the crazy ghost train or the stand up pirate ship) as he was in that castle, the infectious enthusiasm dulled, hopefully it doesnt put him on edge the rest of the trip, keep on riding Shaun
I've been going to Indiana Beach since the 90's. It's always been weird. It's probably less weird than it used to be. But that's why we love it. Where else can you ride a Cornball Express.
Glad you had fun at our little redneck Riviera. If you ever come back gotta try the Bumper Cars and the Water Swings they are two of my all time favorite Flat rides. Also CBE in the back row is a doosie!
Again guys thanks for brightening up my night! I honestly feel through you both i have experienced the worlds theme parks - something i could NEVER do in my actual life. So thank You so much. I always get a chuckle when Shawn notices a fountain!! Thought you guys might get a kick out of a Sik heartline roll (perfect perspective) reel i made as we visited Flamingoland based on your video and experience of Sik - its here: ru-vid.comHrhEEk7HYS4 I just love how you and Charlotte are living the perfect life and sharing it all with us, it genuinely, makes me a happier person to see your adventures. Regarding this park, youve said it before Shawn in a Vlog a few days before - it needs a big signature ride to bring people in and see its magic. Cedar Fair or some company similar known for looking after parks well (or owners of Kennywood or Knoebels? maybe) would be great to take on this park.
felt worse than it is the platform moved about 2-3 inches lol it's perfectly safe it just caught you off guard which is understandable been there a few times very nice attraction still gives me the creeps even though i mostly remember the layout
Hi shawn and Charlotte Wow what a beautiful picturesque park. OMG that drop in the walk through. Thought you were a gonna shawn 😲. I really do enjoy these smaller parks. They have such unique and funny attractions. Both of your reactions to them are brilliant. Fantastic vlog thanks for sharing with us. Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
Love it! If Indiana Beach ever closes (again) I feel like Superstition Mountain would fit in quite nicely at Knoebels! Might be a little too large of a foot print though. Great overview of the park. They have a lot packed in there.. I can see it getting pretty hot there in the dead of summer. You guys seem to be holding up pretty well except when you almost DIED. Pure fear at 52:30.
Went to Indiana Beach in '97... One of the first American amusement parks I went to at that time. It was packed and had a great atmosphere. Lost of fond memories... Hope they keep it up like that. It's one of those parks that gives you memories of a classic park and its attractions. Great to see you've experienced it. Brings back memories!
what a cute family park! Loved the layout and how it takes advantage of the water and the boardwalk. That lost coaster was so unique! Looked super fun.
I’m going there next weekend! I use to go there all the time as a kid and as a younger adult as well but I haven’t been there since 2006 so I’m very excited to see it again.
Love watching this America trip. Amazing parks. Met Shaun’s mom at the Alton towers hotel shop Sunday morning what an amazing lady was loverly meeting her. Hope one day I’ll meet the main two 🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢
@57:24 yeeeaaaah! These classic Swartzkopf machines must be maintained and running forever. Really amazing rides, both smooth and incredibly forceful... And mobile LoL. If I were a crazy billionaire I would donate for the upkeep and maintenance of classic Schwarzkopf.
Brilliant! I live in Cleethorpes and yeah you're right Shawn, the drop tower was the Hyper Blaster at Pleasure Island and at 100ft you really did get some ejector air time. Since Pleasure Island closed I believe the tower has since relocated to the Chicago Navy Pier in Illinois and renamed "Drop Tower" Great vlog x
I’m not sure if you’re aware, but they can drain the lake. I think it’s interesting and yes, the water park comes with your admission from what it was like the last I remember.
Excellent video Shawn and Charlotte from Indiana Beach, the 7th park of our USA Road Trip! In this vlog, we experience this boardwalk-style amusement park for the first time, along with sharing on ride povs. We ride one of the most unique roller coasters we've ever experienced, take a trip through a terrifying walk-through attraction, and much more. We also take you along on the major rides and enjoy a relaxing boat trip with fantastic views around the lake! keep the good videos coming on the channel, I can't write to see the next theme park on channel Shawn and Charlotte. 😀👍👍
Nice vlog, really enjoyed and loved the watch, just like to start with that haunted house, that ledge, even as an watcher, that was scary and actually while watching that, thought you were a goner or you had lost your camera? That scared me, but your ok after that right? Never seen you shook up like that before, first time and hopefully last time. Really was high though, looked it and nice themed room, but for safety agree. Maybe in future scrap that ledge I think or make it more safer? Or move effect to a more safer location? Somewhere would be interested in visiting this place especially for photography, videography. Could get some nice shots here, especially of coasters etc. Somewhere on list to visit, mine coaster was wild, love to see something like that in the UK at a UK Park? But maybe a longer train version for capacity? Be epic I think? But nice vlog, enjoyed, have both Liked & Shared. Cheers again. 😀👍
