As one of the 80's kids who grew up on this series, i can attest that Short Round was the perfect place holder for our own Indiana Jones adventures in the back yard. A kid we could relate to that not only wasn't dead weight but kicked ass! Such a iconic and nostalgic movie.
Yup, we all played Indy in the backyard. I can't tell you how many times I hurt myself trying to swing across from the treehouse. It's a shame that they never brought back Ke Huy Quan in any of the subsequent Indy films. He could have been the saving grace for 'Dial of Destiny'...maybe.
“What in the Mortal Kombat F*ck is goin on?” Lol perfect comment. I saw this movie on TV when I was like 7 or 8. I was blown away; first they eat monkey brains, then they rip a dude’s heart out and lower him into lava! As a kid, this was the coolest shit I ever saw! I was hooked on Indiana Jones. Later on, I got Raiders off the Lost Ark on tape. I watched that and was like “Where’s the monkey brains? Where’s the disemboweling? Where’s the child slavery?” Then I got to the end where the dude’s faces melted. 👍 Man, when I was a kid, I loved Indiana Jones so much, I’d run around the house singing the theme song, which as you know, has no words lol. Somewhere there is a tape made on my Tiger Talkboy tape recorder of kid-me making trumpet noises to the tune of the Indians Jones theme, when suddenly from another room, you hear my dad shout: “LOGAN KNOCK IT OFF!” And of course, the first time I played Mortal Kombat, I had to be Kano because I heard he could rip hearts out like in Temple of Doom. I didn't like this one initially because of the screamy Mrs. Spielberg but, upon a few rewatchings, I grew to enjoy this exactly because of her screamy scenes.
Same! It’s always been my favorite because Willie was completely unprepared for the adventure and short round is just plain hysterical. It does a great job with mixing the humor with the action/emotional distress. I was shocked when I learned that so many people hated it.

I dont care what anyone says, for me this is the best of the Indiana Jones movies, its so much fun, used to watch it over and over with my mom (may she RIP miss ya mom), and that Mola Ram, i think he is the most evil villains i have ever seen, just hear his laugh when he tries to rip Indys heart. I love this movie.

Fun fact: Pat Roach, an English professional wrestler and martial, was the actor that played the giant Thugee pit boss and also portrayed the big nazi mechanic in the first movie who got carved up by the airplane propeller.
This is my favorite Indiana Jones movie. Watching it as an adult made me remember just how cool Short Round was. I always thought he was such an MVP as a kid but dang he really saved the day numerous times. Great video and your dogs are SO adorable ❤

I watched The Accountant yesterday with Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick for about the fifth time. I know you’d like it, no doubt in my mind 😀 yes he’s an accountant, but so much more lol. Almost typed a spoiler, but aborted.
On the language thing, I deal with that a lot. My parents speak and understand English, but it's slow and pretty inefficient for some things. They can tell the story twice as fast and with more detail in their native language. Basically they *think* in that language and have to consciously translate it. Of course that's putting too much thought into it. For the movie they probably just wanted it to sound exotic.
Little trivia ....Spielberg director met his wife while filming, Kate the blond in movie....still married... I went to high school with Steve Spielberg, he was a few years older, but hung out with his sister...Steven was always filming in the backyard, I just thought he was a geek...Boy was I wrong...Lol

Temple of doom is darker and scarier than the other movies in the series. It’s very fun and rewatchable. It’s really inspired by the classic adventure film ‘Gunga Din’ (1939)

Look, I love 1941, but it wasn’t Spielberg’s first film. Steven Spielberg’s first theatrical film was the excellent crime chase drama THE SUGARLAND EXPRESS (1974), followed by his first blockbuster hit JAWS (1975), and then CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND (1977), which was also a big hit. THEN he directed 1941 (1979). Prior to his theatrical debut, he did a lot of television, notably his 1971 TV chase movie DUEL, which got him a lot of notice and was even released theatrically in Europe.

Just a little fun fact: 6ft 5inch English actor by the name of Pat Roach was the big guard whipping the kids in this film and was the Nazi who had the fight with Indy and got killed by the plane propeller in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Yup! Dan Aykroyd plays Indiana's old friend Weber. Contrary to popular opinion, Weber is a GOOD GUY. He simply secured the plane seats in a hurry for Indy, Willie, and Short Round, having never met Lao Che. Therefore, he never knew (or had reason to know) the dangerous situation Indy was in for. And Short Round, played by Ke Huy Quan (Like Kay-Wee Kwon) also played Data in THE GOONIES. Ke Huy just won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in this year's film EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE! How cool is that?? Anyway, give love to the pups for me!, and you take care too , my Brotha! 🫡
