I've been to both his house, and the library in Venice. That's what makes Indiana Jones such a good movie series. It's authentic work, and they rarely ever used green screen. Such a great series, man.

@@DeepDiveNR nice. It was a really cool trip for me, and to even see the library was even cooler.

I was this summer at Venice and saw the library! Cool fact is, you can actually go just like characters in the film, through the bridge to reach the square where library is placed! This bridge is really a path to the library
@UVClipz
@UVClipz 10 месяцев назад
@michakozera8279 Yeah, sadly last summer, when I went, we couldn't go in because it was under construction for a temporary Da Vinci museum. So...sadly, I couldn't see if any Roman numerals were in there.
@mike.94
@mike.94 10 месяцев назад
@@UVClipzI will tell you - they are no! Interior was shot in studio in London. Only bridge and library (church actually) are worth paying attention. Da Vinci exhibition also sounds great but we didn't have time
@UVClipz
@UVClipz 10 месяцев назад
@michakozera8279 yeah, I suspected my expectations for what I would've wanted to see in the museum would not exceed me, and I would've been very disappointed to fund there are zero numerals on the ground, in the "church".

Steven, George, or whoever it was who actually said something like this in the late 70s through to the late 80s: *before or after Raiders of the Lost Ark was out* Indiana Jones is like James Bond. *Before Temple of Doom* Then let us put him in a James Bond Outfit! *By Last Crusade* Then let's cast Sean Connery as his father!!!

I think when Indy looks at the X in the library, I think there's a reason he's looking at it for so long before going up the stairs, the X itself is shiny, where the rest of the floor is matte, so I think you ONLY could see it from at the top of the stairs at that time. I could be wrong, but that's how it looked to me

Spielberg is definitely a director worthy of dedicating an entire summer to, I hope to see more great dives on as many of his films as possible! And i for one do hope Crystal Skull is included, the hate on that movie i think is mostly not deserved.
@paulnicholson5997
@paulnicholson5997 11 месяцев назад
People are about to find out that Crystal Skull wasn't a bad Indy movie after all. I agree, the amount of hate is unwarranted. The thing I noticed watching Crystal Skull recently was Indy's character is treated with respect, something I think will be sorely lacking in the new film.
@Zed-fq3lj

You're absolutely right! But Spielberg movies deserves many summers, one is not enough, and Crystal Skull was an OK movie, not better than any of the original trilogy but a worthy ending, treating Indiana Jones with respect unlike disney depressing abomination!

One thing I latched onto with a recent rewatch is that in the beginning of the film when the Coronado blows up, we see Panama Hat's hat floating in the water. His lifelong obsession with obtaining the cross led to his ultimate demise. Learning to "let it go" is an important lesson Indy learns by the end of the film, but Panama Hat never did.

Hey Eric, what did you think of the theory that after Henry and Indy drank from the grail they got some supernatural or mystical powers that protected them from serious injury or harm, but not death, so that they would still die eventually like a normal person. when it comes to the grail's power, I believe that it does have a lasting effect on those who drink from it, like not immortality since the knight straight up says you have to remain there and keep drinking from it to gain immortality, but instead gives the drinker lasting increased durability. this makes perfect sense if you look at all the things indy goes through in crystal skull and dial of destiny that would've easy crippled or killed a younger man, let alone someone of his age. so events like the always joked about surviving a nuke in a fridge scene, indy was able to survive due to the lasting effects of the grail.

When Raiders came out, European critics compared it to the Tintin graphic novels. Speilberg found and read them and decided to film them. Tintin is a motion-capture masterpiece (made the same way as Avatar) that gives us chase scenes that would have been impossible in the real world.
