@Reygan Briggs It's not a Nazi tank. There's a prior scene where the sultan of Hatay promises to supply the Nazi expedition with his men, equipment and a tank in exchange for a luxurious Rolls Royce
@@thunderboltcougar5626 I see the strap first at 3.17, at 3.24 it's gone and reappears the next second. In the storyline it must have happened at 3.06 as you say, but in reality I still think it's nearly impossible.
The fastest Mark I ever, it seems after it had been captured in Belgium, the Germans did a lot of work to upgrade it, such as an engine swap, adding a scaled down Churchill turret, and fitted a much better transmission system to let it run very reliable with Maybach V12 engine.
i love the part where henry sr gets knocked over onto the tank track and with indy's quick thinking, back hands vogel and grabs his dad with his whip at the same time. Then sallah shows up on horseback to grab him. Truly a great scene.
How could it? The only film in cinema history to be as good or better was Raiders of the Lost Ark! Still, I enjoyed Indy 5 😁 still a fun adventure, and not as racist as Temple and no terribly distracting CGI like Crystal Skull. Overall I’d put it right in the middle, and that’s damn good company to be in!
All this drama, especially when Indy's hanging off the side gun - it looks like the tank isn't going all that fast, someone could easily run that fast, so why didn't he just jump off, run, then climb back on?
I know they used 3 tanks. 1. Full scale fully functional for long shots 2. Full scale set mounted on a trailer for closeups and safe interactions with the tracks. 3. Miniature to roll off the edge. With the behind-the-scenes clips and production photos, I swear this tank changes scale to the actors.
I have the same bag that Jones carried. The strap gets caught around steering wheels, telephone poles, and street lights all the time. But fortunately, all I have to do is get up with a determined look on my face, and the strap comes free.
@@Engie_Boi Could have been, but I was talking about the 9mm caliber, not the pistol. The P08 Luger, the P38, and the modern 9mm's like the Glock 19 and SIG P320, they all used the same round, known as the 9mm Luger (or the 9x19mm NATO). And while the 9mm ball (FMJ) round does only moderate damage, it serves up a relatively dense, heavy bullet at 1200 fps or so. As a result, it is easily capable of going through two or three men.
@ianjoaquinharder1470 1938? I thought it's in 1942 because in the First Indiana Jones, it took place in 1938 and that there's a scene where that german spy recieved news about America Declaring war on Japan after Pearl Harbor.
Henry Sr. isn't a fighter. He's an academic. Yet in that small fight for the gun, he utilizes what he has on him to get that soldier off his back. With extra quick thinking to help protect the Holy Grail, he mans a side gun and blows away that truck of Nazi soldiers. The Jones family is a force to reckon with.
0:49 Vogel: Go! Beat him to death! 2:00 Periscope soldier: The Americans - they fight like women! 3:21 Second tank crew-man: No! Stay here! 3:41 Vogel: Go! Against the wall!
It's the Indiana Jones universe. Not a lot of historical military equipment in it, is accurate. Just like the flying wing, MP40 machine guns (plus the portable RPG) in Raiders, to this tank in The Last Crusade.
The tank is somehwhat accurate. If I'm not mistaken, originally the Mark 1 was supposed to have a movable turret but due to balancing problems, they dicided to mount the guns from the sides.
Now I could be wrong. Obviously it's not meant any tank that ever existed. But the set designer may have been going for the French Renault SRB. It was an interwar heavy tank that sometimes had the side canons. Many interwar tanks were shipped over to Morocco and other areas and we're bought or acquired by local forces, where they then fell into the hands of the Nazis, if only to be scrapped for parts.
